Right now we don’t have a real explanation for these explosions. However, I believe that there is a relatively simple explanation. As far it is known, all these devices use lithium-ion rechargeable batteries. These batteries when charged have a huge energy/gram storage capacity. If a cell in these batteries is shorted, in a very short time it releases the whole amount of energy stored causing it to explode. This problem has often been shown in videos of electric bicycles and electric cars suddenly catching fire and blowing up. The question is how could the Israelis cause so many pagers (and now it seems hand held radios also) to explode in a very short time period?
A conjecture:
The Israelis may have found a way to quickly heat the lithium-ion batteries in devices using RF (radio frequency) emissions. That is certainly possible, but it would be necessary to know the exact frequency in which this happens, just like a microwave oven can be used to heat water, and to bombard the devices with and RF beam with this frequency and powerful enough to quickly heat devices that would rupture the isolation and shorting the cells of the batteries that would cause an explosion strong enough to even kill a person holding the device.
If this conjecture is really what happened, the WHOLE WORLD is in danger and could be held hostage by Israel!
