Chicago Cubs: Pete Crow-Armstrong makes brutal admission after another disastrous game vs Brewers
The Chicago Cubs fell to 29-21 on the season with their 5-0 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday night. After leading the National League Central Division for most of the last month, the Cubs are now in third place and have seen the Brewers rise back up to the top. What is more, Chicago was just swept at home by Milwaukee after entering the series with a 15-game home win streak.

Centerfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong, fresh off a frustrating series against the Chicago White Sox that saw him go viral on social media for all the wrong reasons, did himself no favors in this series either.
Pete Crow-Armstrong admits he is doing the Chicago Cubs no favors
At the beginning of Chicago’s series against the Brewers, it was announced the Crow-Armstrong was being fined an undisclosed amount for his vulgar exchange with a White Sox fan on Sunday. In the second game of the series, the 2025 Gold Glove winner dropped a pop fly.
And in the series finale, PCA allowed a single to roll under his glove and all the way to the ivy, which led to three Brewers runs and set the tone for what was a dismal night for the entire team.
After the sweep was complete, the Cubs outfielder addressed the media, and admitted that he is not in the right spot mentally:
“Yesterday and today are genuinely laughable. One thing I can fall back on is, it’s never a lack of focus but [instead] trying too hard and trying to make up for the lack of production that I have given this team and this city.
“Anything physically usually starts mentally. I think that’s what I’m showing everyone right now. That can’t happen. That kind of stuff just can’t happen.”
Crow-Armstrong went just 1-11 in the Brewers series and struck out 11 times. He is now hitting just .225/.302/.357 with five home runs, 20 RBI, and 12 stolen bases. He has also struck out 54 times in 50 games played.
Clearly, PCA is going through it right now. As much as it is important for guys to be able to hit their ways out of slumps, it is also true that a day off (or two) can do wonders in terms of a mental reset.
That is what Crow-Armstrong needs right now, but it doesn’t sound like manager Craig Counsell is going to give it to him.
