No King but God

The Price of Liberty makes no bones about it: we are lovers of liberty (libertarians) and anarchists (against mandatory human government) because we believe in God. In the Creator. He Who is three-in-one, who sent His Son to die for the sins of His creation, human beings. We do not see any other political philosophy (and not a single political party, including the US’s Libertarian Party) which is compatible with being a follower of the Messiah (Christ).

As such, we certainly believe in the idea of “No (Human) Kings.” And for that matter, no Presidents (except of book clubs, maybe). No governors (not even on engines). We have no problem with Mayors (as long as it is an honorary position with no power). So you’d think that we might support all these “No King” rallies.

Well…

No, not really.

We could get behind the idea (as we hear proclaimed by the protestors and their supporters) that this movement is calling for the overthrow of The Donald. But…

We are pretty sure that we do not like the idea of what/whom these No Kings types want to replace Trump. And it ain’t a President of the Continental Congress. (As in an L. Neil Smith idea of a North American Confederation based on unanimous consent.) No, indeed. These protestors, these rally organizers, financiers, and all their minions and backers tell us that they support “democracy.” (Which they claim is being/has been destroyed by the fascist Congress, White House, and Supreme Court.)

History shows us that all too often, such efforts to overthrow kings or dictators or tyrants turn out to make matters worse. France got rid of the tyranny of Louis XVI, only to fall prey to the evil rule of the various “democratic” governments, and then the Imperial rule of Napoleon. Haiti revolted and got rid of their slavery and French masters, only to have a new set of masters with black skin. Russians got rid of the Czar, but found that Lenin and Stalin and crew were even better at being totalitarian tyrants!

The Blaze reports various claims from other news sources and politicians that George Soros is providing a significant amount of financing to the coast-to-coast series of parades/marches/protests, which proclaimed “No King” on Saturday, 18 October 2025. Cowboy State Daily tells us that people in Lusk, county seat of the “reddest county” (Niobrara) of the “reddest State” (Wyoming) are laughing over the entire idea of the No Kings rallies in 2500 places across the Fifty States.(Which does include 14 locations in Wyoming, including Laramie (University of Wyoming location), Jackson Hole (a blue celebrity favorite sixth- or eighth- home site, like Aspen or Telluride), and of course, Cheyenne, the home of the Wyoming Legislature and the many “registered Republican but should be (and votes like) a Woke Democrat social justice warrior.”

But the source of the funding, and the amusement of pretty conservative, even laissez-faire, ranchers and businesses on the edge of the Black Hills, is not the primary concern. We stumbled though four years of a Democratic democracy with Uncle Joe at 1600 PA. We had previously suffered under Trump 1.0 for four years (with the Deep State meddling and messing up, admitted), and eight years of Obummer. If we here at TPOL and most lovers of liberty had not already understood the stupidity, hazards, and risks of democracy, particularly the Woke version pushed in 2025.

So we fall back on our default position: quoting the apostle Peter, “We must obey God rather than men.” And quoting the prophet Isaiah from another 600 or so years earlier. “For YHWH is our Lawmaker, YHWH is our Judge, YHWH is our King; He will save us.” As Mama Liberty was fond of saying, “We are self-governors, and that ain’t easy: trying to govern someone else is not going to work!”
