最后，卡尔爷爷提及到，在现在多变的社会里，很多小孩有时不得不和自己的好朋友分开，搬去其他城市或国家。因为这样，他们或许永远没有机会再次相见，而这样的离别会或多或少留给孩子们挥之不去的伤感。卡尔爷爷希望通过这本童书，鼓励孩子们勇敢乐观自信地去面对生活中的改变，同时领略生活的艺术和大自然的美好。

在绘本中，卡尔爷爷提到，是两个妈妈让他们相拥在一块儿才有了那张黑白照片。这让我想到了，我们也是如出一辙，让两个娃坐在台阶上，方便我们抓拍他们的小样子。
和他们认识也是一次机缘巧合。一次我推着童车经过公园，看着小男孩妈咪在哪儿发呆。我主动上前攀谈一翻后，此后我们走动也多了起来，一起去公园玩，一起去艺术馆，图书馆。很快，小男孩的爸爸完成学业要回巴西了，哎，又一个小伙伴要回家了。
和第三个小朋友相处的时间最短，不超过一个小时。一次去爸爸上班的地方找他，我和BenBen在附近公园等爸爸，就在等待的时候，一个小黑孩跑进了公园。两个小朋友虽素昧平生，可熟络得像两个相识很久的老朋友一般。
你追我敢，你跳我蹦，好不热闹，我们两个妈妈都想让两个小家伙坐下来拍一张照片，可小屁孩就是小屁孩，那肯听你们大人的摆布。还是最后，小男孩的爸爸让他们俩安静下来，才有了上面他俩坐在椅子上的照片。
