I Recall A Few Of My Closest Encounters With Bears!!

Dear world~

After watching several bear-related videos over the last while, it got me thinking about my closest bear encounters.

I have had maybe 6 bear encounters… I basically assume if I am out in the wilderness, that someone like a bear or cougar or someone else, could be in the area.

Normally, I like to blow a whistle if I’m out hiking, just to let everyone know that I’m around… I think the wildlife appreciate knowing, because nature is not about living creatures bumping into one another… nature in balance, is very harmonious.

Risky to walk without a gun, some might think, but it could also be energetically risky to carry a gun, because they animals can sense if you are their friend or foe.

So one beautiful afternoon, I was on a brief nature hike… nearby the glorious Archangel Michael vortex in the Lake Louise area, the vortex, which radiates approximately 125 km out from the Lake Louise area… the entire area, is simply a powerful relaxing place, with free camping, and pure water…

Now this time, I didn’t have my whistle, I had my beautiful purple heart flute… purple heart is a very hard wood… so hard, that my flute that I’ve tossed around in bags, and random storage for 30 years, has barely a nick on it.

So I’m playing my flute walking down a path that is barely travelled, but it’s a path… but I guess I was playing my flute too magical or enticing or something, because I attracted a bear… and a teenager sized brown bear came to check me out.

Frick!!! The bear was close to me and focused on me.

I don’t remember any panic, other than needing to immediately switch up my energy to deal with the situation, which amounted to me chilling out, so nothing really changed.

I faced the bear, not making eye contact.

And I played my flute for the bear.

Basically, I gave that bear a mini concert of it’s life haha.

It knew not to fear me, and I didn’t think it was coming to me for a fast food lunch.

Okay, so that lasted a few moments, and I was stepping backward, and the bear must of left too, right?

Nooooo… that bear wanted an encore!

As I rounded the corner, hearing nothing, I was shocked to see the bear was waiting for me around the bend… wow, that was so quiet I didn’t even notice.

Encore, it was.

That time, it worked, and our encounter was done.

Funny, I didn’t fear for my life on my walk home.

Okay, another close bear encounter, was when I had my first spring camping, last year.

I had started the fire in my mini wood stove (a specialty cast iron wood stove that fits in a back pack).

I had some coconut oil on the cast iron frying pan, and inside my camper to prepare.

I think it was within a minute, I turned back to check the frying pan, and a bear was there licking it.

The cast iron was obviously getting really hot, but the bear continued to try to scrape that coconut oil with it’s claws… as it could no longer lick it.

I went inside my camper and watched from there… which is kinda laughable because a tin camper, is like a tin can to a bear, but sssssh, they don’t know that.

That bear was surely very very hungry… so I wasn’t too bummed out over it, and glad that bear was getting some sustenance.

I tried a bunch of noise makers to scare it away but nothing worked.

Well, what seemed to work, was doing a few of them all at the same time.

I’m thinking since the bear didn’t know how many people where there, to sound like many people.

Bang the drum, rattles, frying pan, table, floor… different voices…. bear leaves.

Folks… spring and fall, are the only times the bears seem to come close to camps for starvation food.

It was a good reminder for me NOT to put COCONUT OIL on my body during my hikes… other than that… I make sure to spray myself with colognes, because I know chemicals like those, are not tasty for a bear… at least, that’s my theory hahaha, so far so good.

Now is there an important lesson in these?

Yes!

Because many reading these words are going to facing a series of very precarious situations, regarding, nature, wildlife, survival, the urban jungle… you WILL be stranded, stuck, in a new situation, perhaps without many resources.  You WILL have wildlife encounters… other worldly encounters… DIVINE encounters.

The idea, is that we can be in harmony with WHATEVER is out there.

Harmony is how we can have peace especially if there are creatures that seek our energy, in any way shape or form.

Try it…

Imagine you are on a walk, and bear is coming closer to you.

Will you sing it a song, or sound the dinner bell? LOL!

Blessings,

Ricardo
