Generic-Sounding AI Music Is Flooding the Market. How Am I Rising Above the Crowd of Sameness?
Generic-Sounding AI Music Is Flooding the Market. How Am I Rising Above the Crowd of Sameness?
Why I created Rise Above the Machine—and why Divine Pop is about much more than making another catchy song.
Something strange is happening in the music industry.
Artificial intelligence has made it possible for almost anyone to generate a complete song in minutes. Beautiful voices, polished production, catchy choruses, and sophisticated arrangements are suddenly available at the push of a button.
And yet, something seems to be missing.
I’ve been noticing more and more advertisements for AI-generated music. Much of what I’m hearing sounds remarkably similar. The production is polished, the voices are convincing, and the melodies are familiar.
But too often, the experience leaves me feeling strangely empty.
It’s music that sounds like music we’ve already heard, created to compete for attention in a world already drowning in content.
Where’s the originality? Where’s the humanity? Where’s the soul?
And perhaps most importantly, where’s the message worth sharing?
I Didn’t Want to Just Press a Button
When I began experimenting with AI music technology, I made a decision.
I wasn’t interested in simply entering a few words, pressing a button, and accepting whatever complete song came out.
I wanted to participate in the creative process.
I wanted to write and shape the lyrics, explore unusual musical combinations, experiment with arrangements, reject what didn’t work, and keep refining the music until it communicated something meaningful.
I wanted to say something. I wanted to feel something. And I wanted the music to mean something.
Artificial intelligence became an instrument for exploring possibilities that would otherwise have required an entire recording studio, session musicians, vocalists, and a considerable production budget.
But the technology was never the point.
The message was.
What If Christ’s Words Became Pop Music?
One of the most exciting creative possibilities I discovered was taking the words and teachings of Christ and bringing them into contemporary popular music.
Imagine spiritual messages that people have contemplated for centuries becoming unforgettable choruses, carried by infectious beats, soaring melodies, and uplifting arrangements.
Why should words associated with Divine love and spiritual transformation be confined to books, sermons, or religious ceremonies?
Why couldn’t they become songs that people play while driving, dancing, exercising, or celebrating life?
I also began working with spiritual messages that I understand to be communications from God to humanity, transforming those words into musical experiences.
Not simply background music accompanying a spiritual message.
The message becomes the song. The song becomes an experience.
And suddenly, spiritual teachings can reach people through a completely different doorway.
Welcome to Divine Pop
I began calling this musical approach Divine Pop.
It’s a combination of contemporary pop, electronic dance music, shamanic rhythms, cosmic imagination, spiritual teachings, and a commitment to creating something original, heartfelt, and uplifting.
Some songs are deeply emotional. Others are playful, provocative, mysterious, or designed to get people dancing.
But there’s a common intention running through them.
Pop music you want to listen to. Messages your soul wants to hear.
I don’t believe spiritual music has to sound solemn, predictable, or disconnected from everyday life.
And I certainly don’t believe music about God has to be boring!
If anything, the extraordinary possibilities of our relationship with the Divine deserve extraordinary music.
AI Can Imitate a Sound. But Who Gives It a Purpose?
One of the challenges with AI-generated music is how easily it can reproduce familiar formulas.
Ask for a pop anthem, and you may get something resembling countless existing pop anthems. Ask for a love song, and familiar phrases and predictable emotional patterns can appear.
The results can sound professional without necessarily sounding personal.
That’s why creative direction matters.
What are you trying to communicate? What emotional experience are you creating? What perspective do you bring that hasn’t already been expressed a thousand times?
For me, the answers come from 23 years of exploring God, extraterrestrial life, ascension, spiritual teachings, and the mysteries of the universe.
They also come from my experience as a musician, ceremonial drum carrier, writer, and creator of Indian in the Machine and World Teacher & Friends.
AI didn’t give me those experiences, interests, or convictions.
It gave me another way to express them.
Is Anyone Using AI to Help Free Humanity?
We hear plenty about artificial intelligence replacing jobs, influencing human behavior, gathering data, generating content, and competing for our attention.
But I find myself asking a different question:
How many people are deliberately using this extraordinary technology to inspire greater human freedom, spiritual awareness, love, and connection?
Much of the digital world operates as an enormous competition for attention.
More clicks. More views. More followers. More content.
And now, more AI-generated music than anyone could possibly listen to.
But what if the purpose of a song wasn’t merely to capture someone’s attention?
What if it was to give something meaningful back?
What if music could encourage people to question the world they’re inheriting, reconnect with their spiritual nature, rediscover joy, and imagine a future beyond the limitations of today’s systems?
That’s the purpose behind Rise Above the Machine.
The irony is intentional.
I’m using the machine to create music that encourages humanity to rise above the machine.
Music That Opens a Door Beyond Time and Space
There’s another dimension to this project that conventional pop music rarely explores.
I believe humanity is approaching an extraordinary spiritual crossroads.
Some call it a timeline split. Others envision ascension, a Great Solar Flash, or the emergence of a fifth-dimensional Earth.
These are themes I’ve explored for years, and they now find expression through music.
I want songs that do more than describe the world as it is.
I want music that invites people to experience the possibility of another world.
A world where love is more important than control. Where Divine connection matters more than artificial approval. Where humanity rediscovers its creative and spiritual potential.
I want to create music that feels as though it reaches beyond time and space, opening a doorway into a more beautiful possibility for humanity.
Not simply another song competing for a place on someone’s playlist.
An invitation to imagine, feel, and participate in something greater.
Music for the Human Revolution
This vision is coming together in the forthcoming Rise Above the Machine album:
MUSIC FOR THE HUMAN REVOLUTION
It’s an album for people living between two worlds.
The machine is still here. Technology continues to transform civilization. Artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly embedded in everyday life.
But humanity still has choices.
We can choose love over fear, creativity over conformity, genuine relationships over artificial substitutes, and spiritual awareness over endless distraction.
And we can dance while doing it!
That’s why I believe Divine Pop has a place in today’s musical landscape.
Not because it uses artificial intelligence.
But because it uses artificial intelligence in service of something deeply human.
The technology helps create the sound. Human intention gives the music its purpose.
