Alex Parker
Alex Parker was born in Portland, Oregon and developed a keen interest in storytelling and justice from an early age. His father, a high school history teacher, and his mother, a social worker, instilled in him the importance of education, empathy, and civic responsibility. Alex attended the University of Oregon, where he majored in Journalism and minored in Environmental Science. During his student years, he wrote for the university newspaper, uncovering stories on environmental issues, student activism, and local politics. After graduating, Alex moved to New York City to work as a reporter for a major national newspaper. Alex never forgot his roots. He returned to Portland after a decade in New York, seeking a balance between his professional ambitions and personal life. Back in his hometown, Alex joined an independent news outlet focused on investigative journalism and multimedia storytelling. Here, he continues to shed light on important issues, from climate change and social justice to tech innovations and cultural shifts. Outside of his professional life, Alex is an avid traveler, photographer, and nature enthusiast. He spends his weekends hiking in the nearby mountains, capturing the beauty of the Pacific Northwest through his lens. He also volunteers with local environmental organizations, advocating for policies that protect the region’s natural landscapes.
