LISTEN: “I Won’t Let Go…A Promise From the Lord” — Via the Wayfaring Gal (11/10/2024)

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. (Isa 41:10)

The song below reminds me of the Narrow Way walk, as do so many other songs I’ve come across over the years.

This song is extremely uplifting as I endure the trials and tribulations (yet not I, but the grace of God which is with me) that I continue to experience during the process of God’s Narrow Way judgment walk.

I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me. (Ps 119:30)

When one starts reading and studying the word of God for ourselves, we come to realize there is no such thing as “sinner’s prayers” nor an “ABCs of salvation” anywhere in the Bible.

There are, instead, many verses exhorting us to be strong, have patience, and work out our own salvation with fear and trembling!

Both the Old and New Testaments harmonize on these important points:

Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD. (Ps 31:24)

Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy. (Jas 5:11)

I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. (Ps 40:1)

In your patience possess ye your souls. (Luke 21:19)

Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. (Ps 2:11)

The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant. (Ps 25:14)

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. (Phil 2:12)

The strait gate/narrow way is God’s way of revealing to us our hidden inner heart, the hidden man, and showing us—experientially—why we need a Redeemer.

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. (Ps 19:14)

And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: (Ezek 11:19)

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. (Ezek 36:26)

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. (1Cor 4:5)

That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; (Eph 3:16)

The Narrow Way walk is also a walk of judgment that, if we continue to the end, will bring about the revelation that we do not love, in truth, as Jesus commanded.

This is because we do not have the divine “Agape” love of God within us; it was lost to all of mankind at the fall. God’s divine love is the standard by which we are all judged and condemns us all right out of the womb.

I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts. (Eccl 3:18)

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? (Jer 17:9)
I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. (Jer 17:10)

And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man. (John 2:25)

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world [BECAUSE WE ARE ALREADY CONDEMNED]; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:17)

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (John 3:19)

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. (John 13:34)

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Heb 4:12)

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. (Jas 4:8)

This is the reason that Jesus told us we must be born again.

The strait gate/narrow way is the only way given to us by Jesus that leads us to eternal life with Him; and if we do as Jesus commands us, it is God who gives us the power to enter the strait gate and walk the narrow way…

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (John 1:12)
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:13)

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (John 3:3)

Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. (John 3:7)

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. (John 6:37)

No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:44)
It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. (John 6:45)

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. (1John 3:1)

This narrow way process is not always pleasant, but the Bible lays out for us so many verses of encouragement as we journey down the road:

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: (Num 6:24)
The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: (Num 6:25)
The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. (Num 6:26)

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. (Josh 1:9)

But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. (Job 23:10)

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: (Phil 1:6)

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. (Jas 4:10)

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. (Rev 22:17)
