The Egyptian Pharaoh had 2 dreams of fat & skinny corn then fat & skinny corn. Pharaoh’s counselors were unable to interpret the meaning of the dreams. The butler then remembered Joseph had interpreted his dream so Pharaoh sent for Joseph who did interpret his 2 dreams as one.
So Pharaoh clothed him in royal garments and jewels and made him second ruler over Egypt under Pharaoh.
Joseph interpreted Pharaoh’s dream as a warning from God that there would be 7 years of plenty followed by 7 years of famine.
Joseph caused a portion of the 7 years of plants harvest to be set aside as food storage in silos to prepare and provide for the 7 years of famine.
The famine was so severe that populations came for miles away in the region round about Egypt to buy food.
After their money ran out and they were broke, then their Possessions, livestock, lands and finally they sold their very bodies or lives into lifetime bondage & slavery in order to able to EAT.
