Wake Up, America, to the Spiritual Warfare Consuming Our Nation!

The time has come to address an urgent truth that has been hidden beneath layers of comfort and complacency, a truth that’s too often ignored from American pulpits. We are in a battle, America—a spiritual battle that demands our attention. Darkness is sweeping across our nation, infiltrating our lives, our culture, our institutions, and even our churches. Yet, too many followers of Christ remain blind to the war raging around them. Wake up, America, to the spiritual warfare consuming our nation!

One of the most dangerous aspects of deception is that it’s invisible. By its very nature, deception traps us in ignorance. A deceived person doesn’t know they’re deceived; they live in darkness, unaware of the chains holding them back. And today, many Christians in America are deceived, held in a web of spiritual blindness. We’ve been led to believe that Satan is bound, powerless, or far removed from our lives. But the reality is that Satan’s influence is everywhere, right here, right now—striking at the heart of our homes, our communities, and our churches. His influence is behind the struggles, the persistent sins, and the divisions that haunt so many of us.

Our Lord Jesus Christ warned us about this very battle. He knew that Satan, the deceiver, would stop at nothing to undermine the Kingdom of God. And yet, our pulpits have fallen silent on the subject. We hear sermons that make us feel comfortable, safe, and validated. But are we being equipped to face the spiritual attacks on our souls and our nation? In the Bible, pastors and church leaders are called to prepare believers to withstand spiritual warfare. Yet, how many churches today are truly equipping their congregations for this fight? The truth is, churches are filled with well-meaning believers who have never been taught how to resist Satan’s army of darkness. Instead, they are left with vague reassurances and watered-down doctrines that encourage them to ignore evil, hoping it will go away on its own.

This lie has left our nation spiritually vulnerable and unprotected. America is under attack from the forces of darkness. We are seeing a revival of paganism and occult practices that have no place in a nation once consecrated to God. Witchcraft, Eastern mysticism, and new-age spirituality are celebrated openly in our movies, music, and social media. These practices are glamorized, appealing to our youth, who are unknowingly drawn into a world of deception and darkness. Satan’s influence has infiltrated our schools, our homes, and even our churches. Our children are exposed to dark and seductive forces, while our spiritual leaders remain silent, reassuring us with comforting messages that fail to confront the enemy head-on.

The Bible warns us, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). This lack of knowledge is destroying the church in America today. Believers are told they can coast through their Christian lives, ignoring the devil’s schemes, without any real need to resist him actively. But in doing so, we are surrendering ground to the enemy, allowing him to shape our culture and influence our lives. We cannot afford to continue in ignorance. God calls us to arm ourselves with His Word, to “put on the whole armor of God” (Ephesians 6:10-19), and to prepare for the spiritual warfare that surrounds us. This is not a war of flesh and blood, but a battle against “principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world.” It is a war we cannot ignore.

Why do so many American Christians turn a blind eye to Satan’s activity? The answer is simple: they are deceived. Satan’s greatest triumph is convincing the world that he isn’t a threat. By dismissing the topic of spiritual warfare as irrelevant or outdated, we are falling into his trap. And this dismissal is a tragic mistake—one that Satan himself celebrates.

The American church has grown comfortable, choosing comfort over conviction and safety over sacrifice. But Jesus did not call us to a life of comfort; He called us to take up our cross and follow Him. He warned us that we would be hated, reviled, and persecuted. Where is the courage in the American church? Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a pastor who stood against the evils of Nazi Germany, warned that “silence in the face of evil is itself evil.” If we remain silent in the face of Satan’s encroachment on our nation, we are complicit.

We must wake up, America. This is not a theoretical battle; it is real, and the stakes are unimaginably high. We are at risk of losing not only our spiritual health but the very soul of our nation. If we, as followers of Christ, continue to ignore this battle, we risk losing everything that makes us children of God. This spiritual warfare is not going away. We have no choice but to prepare ourselves, to become “more than conquerors” (Romans 8:37), to embrace the real Jesus—not the comfortable, softened Jesus that’s often presented from the pulpit, but the Jesus who declared, “I did not come to bring peace, but a sword” (Matthew 10:34).

This is a fight for our lives, our souls, and our country. It is a fight that demands everything we have. We must answer the call, or we risk losing not only our souls but the future of this nation. The spiritual warfare we face is not just a topic for Sunday school; it’s a matter of life and death, heaven and hell. America, the time for passive Christianity is over. Put on the whole armor of God. Stand against the darkness that threatens to consume us. The time to fight is now.
