AL: Birmingham - Shooting of 72-Year Old Deemed Justified
A 72-year-old man is dead after a shooting on Burrell Street in Birmingham.
The Birmingham Police Department says Eddie Jemison was found in the road just before 6:30 p.m. on December 16, 2025. Jemison was taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Police say Jemison and another man had been in an argument before the shooting. The suspect remained at the scene and is being held on a 48-hour felony extension at the Birmingham City Jail.

Wednesday afternoon, police said the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office has determined this case to be Justified. No criminal charges will be filed.
