Her Response to Kendall Jones Is Awesome: The Truth About Hunting
Kendall Jones has infuriated tens of thousands of people with her gleeful selfies holding freshly killed wild African animals. Death threats were flying around the Internet like speeding bullets.
Warning: The featured video shows images of dead animals.
This woman, Erin Janus, calmly tells it like it is, without threats or insults. That is why I have chosen to put it on a pedestal, and share it as far and wide as I can. Erin explains that exotic animal hunting in Africa is not helping animal conservation, despite what the trophy hunting crowd claim.
Erin’s done her research, offering an incredibly thorough and concise argument. The video is well-made and fact-based, and she refrains from personally attacking Kendall.
Kendall’s Facebook page was once plastered with dead animals like lions, zebras and rhinos. She even got to star in her own TV show, Kendall Jones: Game On.
Erin’s target is Kendall (pun intended), but she covers a huge amount of ground with the famous young huntress as her starting point. Then she implores Kendall to use her youth, good looks, and passion for animals in a positive way, and gives some suggestions.

She takes on the whole hunting industry, and animal agriculture industry—Kendall is just the bouncing board.
For every “but…” you can think of, Erin’s got facts and scientists’ research to back it up. Hunters tout their trophy hunting sport as helping conservation by keeping poaching under control, therefore protecting critically and nearly endangered species from going extinct. Erin gives facts suggesting this isn’t the case, and that hunters are just making matters worse.

Animal populations are plummeting. Erin points out that hunting is the second largest contributing factor.

With elephant populations plummeting, due to illegal poaching for their ivory tusks, how can trophy hunters even consider shooting them? (Screenshot/YouTube)
Erin goes on to explain how hunting is damaging to local communities.
I fully appreciate Erin also delving into the bigger issues, which are effects of an imbalanced animal agriculture and feed crop industry, something we all need to get wise about and act on much faster than we are. The amount of resources it takes to produce and feed livestock is currently very unbalanced, and damaging to the environment.
