As most know, Charlie Kirk was recently gunned down at a Turning Point USA event in Utah where people were encouraged to debate him. One of the things that Charlie Kirk did very well was in how he responded to people on the Left. He never got testy, deranged, angry or insulting toward the person asking questions or making statements. He often allowed them ample time to present not only their question, but their case for why they believed the way they did. This is not something the Left does well in return where conservatives are concerned. They quickly regress to their inner demons that reveal their inner rage and lunacy, with false accusations, lies and anger.

There are a good many opinions on Kirk’s murder, but one of America’s greatest snipers ever – Sergeant Nicholas Ranstad – offered his opinion on things.[1] I think we would do well to pay attention. He believes the shooter was not a professional, but certainly someone who went to the range numerous times. The shooter fired only one shot. He didn’t spray the crowd. Ranstad also believes the shooter was intending to hit Kirk in the head, but due to tremendous adrenaline in his system, he hit his neck instead. In either case, Charlie Kirk was likely killed instantly. Ranstad also guessed that the rifle used was a high-powered hunting rifle. The weapon located is indeed a bolt-action high-powered hunting rifle with a scope. Apparently, the ammunition remaining in the rifle was engraved with transgender themes.

There have been two suspects arrested but then released. Either they were working in collusion with the shooter or they wanted their moment of fame knowing there was no evidence they had done the shooting. However, this certainly gave the shooter plenty of extra time to get a way. I’m sure they’ll finally get this guy though it would not surprise me if as the dragnet closes in, the shooter takes his own life as cowards are want to do.

What we are seeing in America today is the horrific escalation of Leftwing violence and we’ve heard plenty of vile rhetoric from Leftwing politicians insisting that their constituency take to the streets, pushes back, get in the faces of conservatives and everything else. Just yesterday, MSNBC commentator Matthew Dowd was fired from MSNBC for his spiteful rhetoric in which he essentially stated that he believed Kirk’s divisive nature was the reason he was murdered. That is essentially like saying that a woman who dresses scantily deserves to get sexually assaulted. But this is the Left and they are clearly showing their true colors in many ways today.

The fact that last response the Left could come up with where Charlie Kirk was concerned was murder, while shocking, should not take us by surprise. Not sure about you, but my heart is a mixture of heavy sorrow, anger and shock. What the Left is telling us is that they have absolutely no adequate response to anyone who, with facts, disagrees with their positions. The only thing they have remaining is violence.

This all made me think back to Pastor Brian McKinney’s sermon that I posted previously.[2] There, he spoke of how the Babylon system is alive and well and doing the same thing today that it did thousands of years ago by attempting to reprogram people in society who do not think as those firmly entrenched in the Babylonian system think. They simply cannot put up with dissent.

McKinney talked about how Babylon, led then by Nebuchadnezzar, tried to convert to the Babylonian way, young Jewish men taken from Judah. Those young men were in their prime and so they were not threatened (at first). They were plied with the best food, the best education, name changes and even possibly castration. This was all done to create the desired result; young men who would ultimately become part of the system of Babylon themselves, loyal to the false gods of Babylon, and who would never think of their previous lives, religion or Jewish homeland again.

However, there were several holdouts: Daniel and his three friends. It is clear that these men did not change with the tide of flowing great food, education and all the rest. They resisted, refusing to give up who they were in exchange for momentary comfort.

So what else could Babylon do to those men who refused to acquiesce, to cave in and fully embrace the society of Babylon to make it their own? There was only one answer: murder them.

Daniel 3 tells the story I’m sure you’re very familiar with from your youth. Who doesn’t know about the men in the fiery furnace? But let’s remind ourselves why they were tossed into that furnace.

It had come to a point where King Nebuchadnezzar had begun to think of himself as a wonderful king, even a bit of a god. The fact that he, as king, could make the laws but not be held to them himself increased his delusions of grandeur and simply emboldened him further.

He created a tall statue of some sort and demanded that when music was played, everyone everywhere should stop what they were doing and immediately bow down and worship the image. This was another test of compliance from the king that would separate the obedient from the rebellious. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refused to go along, therefore they were the rebellious and a danger to the welfare of the Babylon system. That could not go unchecked.

You see, those three men had so far resisted many of the whims and even demands of the Babylonian empire, refusing to become intricately and more importantly, emotionally part of that system. They were there in Babylon, yes, and their names had been changed, but they would never embrace it and it’s quite possible that they even spoke out against it at times. Whether they did or did not, it is clear that they would not give into the whims of a godless king and his society with its pantheon of false gods.

So what was the final act Nebuchadnezzar could do to make them bend to his liking? Threaten them with death. It was that simple. No one wants to die before his/her time. People in general want to live their full lives. In fact, globalists don’t want to die at all. Nebuchadnezzar had the power of death in his hands (or so he thought), and would pull out that card to use it as a final resort.

Nebuchadnezzar gave the three men one final opportunity to do what he had previously commanded. They must be willing to bow right then and there when the music played so that they could prove to him their fealty. How magnanimous of him, wasn’t it? He wanted the three men to conform to the image of Babylonian society and if they continued to refuse, they would pay with their lives.

We know the rest of the story. The three men refused and were cast into the fiery furnace. However, unlike what Nebuchadnezzar thought would occur, something else happened. The men were not only spared, but there was a fourth “man” in the fire among them. Prior to being tossed into the furnace, they had stated clearly to the king that the God of Israel was very capable of saving them, but should He decide not to do so, the men assured the king that God would ultimately save them from the king’s hand through death.

So, if we consider Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonian society, the goal was to remake every citizen into the image of Babylon. They would try coercing, plying them with wonderful food, great education and a tremendous place to live. But they must learn what their “lane” was and stay in it (as Pastor McKinney noted). Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego clearly had not learned that simple understanding and now the king was “forced” to fulfill the only option he believed was remaining: kill the men because of their refusal to go along with the program.

I believe Charlie Kirk was literally martyred for several reasons. First, he was assassinated to send a message to every conservative, every Christian, every person who dares to resist today’s growing system of Babylon that is engulfing and enveloping the entire world. We are being warned.

Charlie Kirk was not a person who could be cowered into submission. He couldn’t be threatened. He certainly couldn’t be bribed with baubles. He stood tall within the conservative realm. He was a Christian and would often note his feelings for His Savior on his social account. The Left is telling us they are coming for us.

A second reason I believe Kirk was murdered was to silence those of us who oppose the machinations of the LGBTQ+ movement, the constant push toward socialism/communism, the black lives matter, the desecration of God and His Word. We are being told that we must shut up. We should retreat to caves in the hills and stop speaking.

Pastor Brian McKinney is correct. Here in America, the Babylon system is alive and well and doing its best to reprogram all of us into thinking that the only way to live is by fully embracing the LGBTQ+ movement, DEI, equity and all the rest of the Left’s anti-God and anti-human platform. If we won’t go along with all of that, including “climate change” and the coming digital ID, currency and social credit scores, then we are being told we will not be allowed to participate in society at all. Murder has been blatantly placed on the table as the final option. Charlie Kirk’s murder is testament to that fact.

I cannot imagine that Sodom and Gomorrah or the days of Noah were that much worse than what the world is experiencing now. The Bible tells us that as it was in the days of Noah and Lot, so shall it be in the days of the coming of the Son of Man (Matthew 24:37). We know the Bible speaks of the sexual deviancy and violence that existed during Lot’s day as it speaks of the continual and over the top violence of Noah’s day. It has always been difficult for me to picture just how diseased, vile, corrupt, violent and deviant the people in those days were, until the same symptoms rose to the top in society today.

I can only wonder how much worse it will become? It seems that there can only be an increase of the same thing happening today on a wider scale. Everything is pretty much out there. We will simply see more of it as it increases.

A young Ukrainian woman flees war-torn Ukraine for a better life in the USA only to be knifed down by a man who had been previously arrested around 14 times prior and was still on the streets. She did nothing to provoke him, but was simply murdered in cold blood and in broad daylight. The murder barely made the news and mainly independent news at that. Had the perpetrator been white and the victim black, it would be on the news 24/7, analyzed from every angle.

What is happening in America is being replayed in nations throughout the world with God giving societies over to themselves (Romans 1). When that happens, hell gains a greater hold on society with the ability to push that society much closer to the edge of destruction as the Tribulation looms.

Whether the Left can see it or not, Charlie Kirk was martyred because of their demonically inspired way of thinking; all people must embrace Babylon or die. That is their hope and ideology. The Left has tried to cajole, bribe, insist and even threaten. That hasn’t worked for everyone, for people like Charlie Kirk. It didn’t work for Jesus either and before anyone accuses me of comparing Kirk to Christ, I am not. I’m simply noting the same general mindset that existed during Jesus’ day (and Noah’s and Lot’s days), now exists in ours, where evil is praised and good is, with finality, rejected.

One thing this has taught me is that Babylon and its proponents play for keeps. It appears to be coming to a point where Babylon is not going to put up with pesky conservatives/Christians much longer because there is too much for them to lose. Babylon isn’t playing to lose. Of course, the Bible tells us that at one point, during the coming Tribulation, that the system of Babylon will be killed, as it will no longer be needed (Revelation 18). Of course, God is allowing all of this for His purposes and glory regardless of how difficult that is for us to accept. The momentum is building, giving Babylon its growing power. That power will attempt take down anyone who stands in its way.

In all likelihood, there will be others who pay with their lives because of their refusal to go along with Babylon. Charlie Kirk was one, but he won’t be the last. In fact, we know from Revelation 13 that the system of Babylon rises to a point where people will be given a final ultimatum: take the mark of the beast or die. It will be blatant without compromise. It will reach a point where the system will no longer try to persuade people to do what the system wants. Those days will be gone. It will, in the end, become an exact repeat of what King Nebuchadnezzar tried to foist on Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego: do this or lose your life.

The system of Babylon is most certainly being built today. It is fast becoming the foundation upon with the new world order is being constructed. It may still seem that we have options, but there will come a time for all true believers when those options will be funneled down into one demand: take the mark or die.

While it’s still possibly a rather long road to get to that point, it is being paved now incrementally. But know this…if you are one who won’t stand up for what is right and correct now publicly, preferring to go along with the program, you have already lost spiritually. You cannot serve God and mammon, said Jesus. What He meant by that was simply that if our loyalties are divided, only one will eventually gain prominence and hold full sway over our lives.

Christians must not be cowed into silence. We are the salt of the earth and once we lose our flavor and seasoning we are literally good for nothing. Charlie Kirk’s murder should be a galvanizing point for all of us. It should teach us that they are coming for all of us and it is only by God’s grace that we will be spared physically. To go along with the system is to potentially be spared physically but in doing so, we lose much.

Pray for Charlie’s widow and children he’s left behind.
