Netflix has a new movie for action-comedy fans—or maybe it’s for John Cena fans?
Freelance was a 2023 theatrical release, but it didn’t do very well at the box office. However, if you’re looking for something light, a bit humorous, and with a little bit of action, Freelance might entertain you.

I wouldn’t say this is an uneasy mix of comedy and action, but I will say the writers, producers, directors, or whoever made the decisions about this picture weren’t adept at wearing 2 hats.
You’ve got a talented cast who did their best to make the movie watchable. In the end, the script wasn’t funny enough to be a comedy and didn’t have the high action scenes action fans want.
