Customer Service, or lack there-of... Hope you'll chime in...

OK, short and to the point.

Bought ANOTHER (yes, already had some)  BELL AND HOWELL TriLight system. I had ISSUE with one a few years back when 1 of 4 didn’t work and it was very easily and quickly replaced.

 

HOWEVER – NOW – WHOLE OTHER STORY…. Amazon provided a SUPPORT number, which then went through a list of OTHER NUMBERS to call, and eventually the LAST NUMBER also was NOT actual CUSTOMER SUPPORT but the person I spoke with (and an AI robot, could have easily down this instead; or just another Recording) telling me to go to EMSON.COM/CONTACT which itself had NO FORM to fill but another HOOP – various emails to complain to in order to even START to get any real help.

 

I will include said email below; HOWEVER, this piece is not just about ME and my issue with BELL AND HOWELL but asking YOU about your CUSTOMER SERVICE (LACK THERE-OF) HORROR STORIES (please chime in via comments).

And THIS was just ANOTHER STRAW on the Camel’s back in these regards. NORTON with their updates, KEEPS FUCKING UP THE CLOUD STORAGE SETTINGS. I should NOT have to FIX these settings over and over and over EVERY FUCKING TIME YOU BREAK THEM when they were setup and working OK before.

Here is the email I sent – and, YES, know in advance I WAS FUCKING UNHAPPY, PISSED OFF, and ZERO INTENTION of being nice/polite with them….

So this now like the FIFTH hoop you expect me to jump through for you bad customer support, which this entire [lack there-of] Customer Service saga will indeed be spoken about on my Podcast (carried across 25+ Audio platforms and 5 Video platforms) as well as in writing on 5 various online NEWS platforms…. I hope you CARE ENOUGH to fix this and therefore make it a happy ending and not have to also go to YELP, BBB, google, etc. complaints.

RIDICULOUS I had to call Amazon, then another number, then another number, and then to a website, which then DEMANDED that I jump through now here EMAIL HOOP!

Light worked when first purchased but quickly then STOPPED functioning properly
it flashes like a disco strobe light during the day and at night when it is SUPPOSED TO come on upon movement it does not do anything (probably ZERO battery power at night, all wasted away during improper day usage).

I need a replacement.
I have like 5 other of these, that work OK.

THERE IS ZERO CUSTOMER CARE OR SERVICE with most organizations these days. FUCKING SAD. Nobody stands behind their Products these days cuz they keep making it CHEAPER and CHEAPER and LESS RELIABLE with each passing year.

 

Bought a Fridge through Best Buy several months back as part of (PAYING EXTRA, expecting get BETTER SERVICE) Best Buy Total Tech. contract which provides (supposed to) BETTER COVERAGE through them. I have (re: my podcast) purchased a Headset/Mic (Gamer set, I do NOT intend to have a thousand dollar Mic (and, yes, I have them in attic from being former DJ) across my table in my Living Room attached via Boom to broadcast with (with today’s Tech, SHOULD NOT BE NECESSARY) and it has gone bad FIVE DIFFERENT TIMES over THREE YEARS (and in these cases, yes, was able to just walk in to Store, get a new one, no Questions asked (as WHY willing to pay for the BBTT policy yearly)) – did NOT have to worry about “filing anything with Manufacturer” in those cases; nor with the Bluetooth wireless Mouse units keep FAILING over and over (seem to never last past 8 months) needing replaced.

 

But when it came to the Fridge, faulty, broke down, within 1 year (short by like a few days), I of course was told HAD TO CALL MANUFACTURER to deal with it. How about NO – YOU are supposed to give me extra coverage (it is WHY we pay you for the Contract) and if it were ONE YEAR AND ONE DAY beyond purchase you would be sending Technician to FIX OR REPLACE but with it like 3 days shy of that 1 year – YOU should then still be MY COVERAGE POINT OF CONTACT and make the arrangements for the Manufacturer to cover UNDER WARRANTY but of course instead HOOPS (had to go through pain-in-ass process and took days trying to get Support from Manufacturer to come fix it).

 

It seems like EVERYTHING is thrown together and ZERO QUALITY CONTROL as if they just are saying MOST of them will work and WHATEVER that they’ll worry about the FAR TOO LARGE PERCENTAGE of shit they let get delivered on the backside (IF the Customers manage to get through ALL THEIR HOOPS and ROADBLOCKS they put up hoping you’ll just BUY ANOTHER)!!

 

 

Let me CLOSE, however, WITH A PRAISE, well small kudo’s. Sad all these TV’s nowaday are really just PC motherboard, with a cheap HD Video Card, behind a CHEAP ultra-thin LED/LCD/whatever screen. UNFIXABLE. Should have been able to REPLACE the Video Card but NO they are permanently SEALED and meant to be DISPOSABLE (a WASTE of the rest of the Unit that IS NOT BROKEN)!!! But ABC WAREHOUSE has been good to me regarding TV’s of late. I had a 50″ Hitachi RearProjection TV that latest FOUR DECADES (yes, over that time, had a problem here or there that could be and WAS fixed by a TV Repairman (UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY)). But once it fully died, the 50″ FlatScreen (SHARP) I first bought lasted under a year and HAD TO BE REPLACED (not fixed). Then THAT ONE broke within another year time REPLACED (under extended Warranty) then THAT ONE died in short order but THAT TIME it could NOT be directly replaced as SHARP was then NO LONGER MAKING THAT MODEL so thankfully under ABC Ext. Warranty they let me get a 65″ SAMSUNG instead that has (knock on Wood) STABLE and FULLY FUNCTIONAL for now on 3+ years.

THEY (Manufacturers, and push upon Retailers to deal with) purposefully, willfully, malice aforethought, IMO, let FAULT SHIT (cheaply made, quickly without any regard for quality using faulty/garbage parts, zero quality control (ZERO PRIDE by any, any part of the chain)) out the doors knowingly. I am NOT a ClimaTard but I do CARE that we are now creating FAR TOO MUCH easily disposable, unfixable, SHIT, that keeps filling landfills. [include LAPTOPS, Phones, etc., in that list - I as a former IT guy concerned not enough RECYCLE of at least some parts happening with. We can, could, should, RECYCLE more stuff we can. Thankfully DTE took the old Fridge the one purchased was to replace/upgrade (I actually got a $50 check for it) so that not 100% just all went into Landfill.]

 

Cannot even begin recall the so many other more minor things purchased and after about a year DEAD, just have to discard – not bother replace cuz WHY bother with likely to be another worthless POS that will NOT BE RELIABLE (waste time, waste money (and now on Disability Income (unlike when I was able to Work and had reasonable DISPOSABLE SUPPLEMENTAL CASH for “wants” vs 
“needs”) cannot afford to replace EVERYTHING that breaks, just have learn DO WITHOUT)).

 

Lastly FULL DISCLOSURE, my Sister is like the TEMU (cheap shit from China) QUEEN. I keep telling her she needs to STOP buying all that garbage that indeed much of which LANDS UP IN TRASH not long after it arrives.
