Americans ditto the above?
High strangeness, a sense of a knowing perhaps that it would do no good?
Same goes for abortion clinics.
Yet with the advent of the Holy Ghost, his apostles and disciples persevered in the face of extreme opposition, often involving torture and death. This kept the church alive and it grew and became victorious.
Yet martyrdom was alway present, throughout the ages, in one place or another, for one reason or another.
Christ himself chided Peter and restored the man’s ear whom he had struck.
So maybe it was meant to be so.
A fear gripped Israel after Christ’s death, a fear of the authorities.
Not all however.
Many overcame their fear.
The rest are the ancestors of the Jews today. Their rejection of Christ is the result of fear. Nothing else, then or now.
It is this fear which we must confront, on their behalf, that the Jews finally enter in, grafted back on to the tree from which they were cut off.
