The Last Merry Christmas and Happy New Year?

180 years ago a Baptist preacher, William Miller and 50,000 followers suffered a “bitter belly” foretold in Revelation 10 from their misunderstanding of Daniel 8’s cleansing of the  sanctuary as a rapture to heaven and a time of judgment for the world. Nothing happened as expected.  

But the angel told John (who typified those Christians) that he “must prophesy again,” and Revelation 11 is about a time of judgment that Richard Ruhling sees coming as a result of current events in the world.

I’m a retired physician and claim no vision or dream, but the Bible is written for our understanding and we can see relevance if we read it.

God wanted a movement 180 years ago to counter two godless ideologies that were just be-ginning then with Karl Marx’ Communist Manifesto and Charles Darwin’s Origin of the Species (evolution)

This has relevance if we consider Elon Musk’s claim that Kamala Harris is communist in favoring not only equal opportunity, but equal distribution of goods, etc.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church grew out of the Millerite movement after 1844, but co-founder, Ellen White, said they were copying Jewish history in failure to follow truth. I was reared SDA, but now see all denominations failing as a pure woman that represents God’s movement to “restore all things” (Matt 17:11) and in Revelation 12:1 is standing on the moon, implying a lunar understanding of the calendar.

The biblical calendar was changed by the “little horn” power that grew as one of 10 horns out of the Roman Empire as it fell—those horns were symbolic of nations roaming Europe, but a “little horn” made war with the saints and changed times and laws (Daniel 7:25), also seen as a harlot riding the beast of global government or New World Order in Revelation 17:3.

The biblical calendar (with new moons signaling each new month and appointed times) was changed by Rome, but it is not possible to arrive at the odd date in Haggai 2:10,18,20 by using the Gregorian Calendar. The Millerites might have been spared their bitter experience if they had seen “the vision at the time of the end” in Daniel 8:17 was not the 2300 year vision in Daniel 8:14, but the ram-goat vision also in Daniel 8 where a militant ram with horns  representing kings of Medes and Persians are now Iraq and Iran. With Saddam gone, Iran is next. They funded Hamas and Hezbollah and are entering the war by attacking Israel this year.   

The US is represented by the goat that flies from the west to break the ram’s horns. In Bible times, horns were used to make trumpets. Trump is the great horn that makes the US great.

Isaiah 46 says God makes known the end from the beginning. In the book of beginnings, Abraham was tested on his willingness to sacrifice his son, Isaac, who was spared at the last second when a ram caught in a bush was sacrificed, Genesis 22:13. George Bush caught the first horn and Saddam is dead. The complexity of relevance favors trusting the Bible for an impending problem in spite of Obama’s Nuclear Treaty with Iran to which the Bible’s “Peace and safety” may apply to bring destruction, 1Thessalonians 5:3.

Christ warned of “Jerusalem compassed armies.” and Zechariah 14:2 says the city will be taken, houses rifled, women raped and half the city will go into captivity. Hamas did so on small scale that’s escalating. 

Muslims may be expected to celebrate their mosque and Quran that says, “Allah has no Son.” Suddenly, “the Lord shall roar from Jerusalem…heavens and earth shall shake” (Joel 3:16) and they will flee.

Shaking “heaven and earth” brings a time of judgment foretold in Haggai 2:6,7 when “the desire of all nations shall come.” Ruhling believes this is Christ’s kingdom, but not his coming in the sky as most believe.

When God executed judgment on Egypt for enslaving Israel and throwing their babies in the river, He took them to Sinai for a covenant that made them His kingdom (Exodus 19) and bride, Jeremiah 3. But God got an ignorant bride that worshiped a calf and this must not happen to Christ. Understanding Christ’s wedding parables and how Bible covenants were made can help us to share Elijah’s role to “restore all things, Matt 17:11.

“No man knows the day or hour…BUT as the days of Noah” when the Flood had Passover timing (time of judgment) in the 2^nd spring month. It was because Methuselah’s name meant, when he dies, it will come, and he died as a sign the Flood was coming. 9-11 warning in Numbers 9:10,11 provides for Passover in the 2^nd spring month also for travel.

If an Israelite took a long trip and couldn’t get back for Passover, he was not excused. He was to keep it a month later, and that’s how Christ ended his wedding parable in Matthew 25, “for the kingdom is like a man traveling to a far country.” In that next parable, Christ was the Master who took a long trip to heaven, and his return for a time of judgment should be at 2^nd Passover in May, which has unique timing next spring. 

May 19, 1780 was a historic “Dark Day” (Google) when New Englanders needed lamps to read in mid-day when cows came in and chickens went to roost. Christians took it as a sign of Christ’s return (Joel 2:1,2) and it repeated when Mt St Helens erupted and wind carried its ashes to darken three states in the NW  on May 19, 1980, the 200^th anniversary. I believe that God was marking May 19 for 2025, when the last day of Passover (time of Judgment) happens to falls on May 19.

Einstein said, “Coincidence is God’s way of remaining anonymous” and he explains that If God punished us every time we did wrong, we would serve God from fear of punishment rather than from love and appreciation for the gift of life and the opportunities that free choices bring us.

The 9^th month, 24^th day is cited THREE times in Haggai 2, a passage sung in Handel’s Messiah each winter, maybe in thousands of churches worldwide. Their taking Jerusalem (Zechariah 14) will involve Jerusalem’s destruction at the 9-11 Passover (Numbers 9:11) in May (“as the days of Noah” when God shakes heaven and earth).

Counting from a decree at Pentecost to rebuild Jerusalem 69 weeks to Messiah in Daniel 9, brings those who understand the lunar calendar (linked above) to the odd date in Haggai 2 when the foundation of the THIRD temple is laid, but it’s NOT about Jews sacrificing lambs after God’s Lamb was rejected and the temple was destroyed as a consequence, Isaiah 53; Daniel 9.

“YOU are the temple of God” 1Corinthians 3. God dwells in every person who asks for help, wisdom and guidance of His Spirit to understand His Word for happiness that excludes lying, cheating, stealing, etc.
