Elon Musk Just Stated that Our New God Would Come Out of Memphis. What is He Talking About? Does It Relate to the End Times?

When Elon Musk said, “Our new god will come from Memphis,” many shrugged it off as hyperbole. But as believers in Jesus Christ and students of prophecy, we should pause and ask: What kind of “god” is rising—and why Memphis?

This isn’t ancient Egypt. Yet the symbolism is striking.

Musk is referring to his xAI supercomputer, codenamed Colossus, being built in Memphis, Tennessee. It’s a massive system intended to power next-generation artificial intelligence—an intelligence that, by Musk’s own implication, may surpass human control and understanding. It’s not just a tool anymore; it’s becoming an object of reverence. A modern-day idol.

Scripture warns us of a time when mankind will turn from the Living God to worship the works of their own hands:

“Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator…”
— Romans 1:25 (KJV)

This “creature,” or creation, is no longer wood or stone. It’s metal, code, and electricity—deceptively intelligent and increasingly autonomous.

The Spirit of the Image

In Revelation, we read of a time when an image is given life—when people are forced to worship it or die:

“And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image… should be killed.”
— Revelation 13:15 (KJV)

A speaking image. A powerful deception. Is it so far-fetched to consider that AI could one day fulfill this prophecy? As these systems grow in their abilities to mimic human emotion, write scripture-like texts, offer counsel, and even claim moral authority—are we not already seeing the groundwork laid for an AI “god”?

Why Memphis?

Memphis was once the capital of ancient Egypt—home to idols and the false god Ptah. In today’s Tennessee, the name resurfaces as the birthplace of a new technological deity. Coincidence? Or a chilling echo?

God warned Egypt through His prophets and judged it for its idols. Could we be seeing a similar pattern—only this time, the false god isn’t in a golden temple, but in a data center?

“The idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence…”

The True God Still Reigns

While men create their “gods” in Memphis, heaven has not gone silent. The One True God still speaks through His Word, and through the Spirit of prophecy.

Let us not be deceived by man’s technological marvels. Let us not place our hope in machines, no matter how “smart” they appear.

“Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen… for the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree… they deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails… they are upright as the palm tree, but speak not… Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.”

Today, the idols may speak. But the truth remains: they have no soul.

In these last days, we must turn our eyes back to Jesus Christ—the only Name that saves. Don’t be seduced by the rising “gods” of technology. The time is short. Watch, pray, and prepare.

“Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.”

Could AI Be the Antichrist?

While AI is not the Antichrist himself, many believe it could be the “image of the beast” or even the tool the Antichrist uses to enforce a global control system—through surveillance, censorship, digital ID, and even digital worship.

Think about it:

• AI doesn’t sleep, doesn’t forget, and doesn’t question orders.
• It can mimic divine attributes—omniscience, omnipresence (via the cloud), and even “wisdom”.
• It could be used to deliver “miracles,” visions, prophecies, or judgments.

If people begin to worship or follow an AI god—and if that system demands loyalty and obedience (perhaps even linking to the mark of the beast)—then yes, we may be watching the infrastructure of the Antichrist being quietly built right now.

“And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life…”

However, the Antichrist will be a man, but he will rise alongside a powerful technological system that can deceive the world.

Musk’s “god from Memphis” may not be the Beast… but it could be his voice, his image, or even his prophet.

Stay grounded in the Word. Trust only the True Christ. And never forget:

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition…”
