Our “End-Times” Plan #11: Finding Peace in the Raging Storm of the End-Times

I have spent a great part of my life boating, enjoying the beauty of God’s creations in various lakes within my state. As the captain of our houseboat, I was very aware of the dangers that a storm could bring. Within a matter of minutes, we have found ourselves in storms that always seemed to bring fear to those on board. Fear, a very natural response when faced with a situation where you do not know what is going to happen to you, as it does produce some danger.

You and me are all aboard the same spiritual boat right now, and we have learned that a great “storm” will soon come upon the earth, which is called the 7-year Tribulation.

Prophecies are unfolding before our eyes. Wars. Pestilences. Natural disasters. Lawlessness. Hearts are failing for fear. But for those who follow Jesus Christ, this is not the time to panic—it’s the time to trust.

We must remember: God told us all of this would happen. The storm is not a surprise to Him, and if we belong to Him, it should not be a surprise to us either…we have nothing to fear.

Like a Boat in a Storm—Anchored in Christ

Imagine you’re in a small boat on a raging sea. The waves crash, lightning flashes, and the wind screams across the deck. That’s what these end times can feel like—chaotic, unpredictable, terrifying.

But then… you remember: Jesus is in the boat with you.

“And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.”
—Mark 4:39 (KJV)

The disciples were panicked in the storm, even though Jesus was right there. But He wasn’t afraid. He had perfect peace because He controls the storm. And He reminded them—and reminds us—“Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?” (Mark 4:40)

We must anchor our souls in that same faith. Jesus is not only with us—He has already overcome the storm.

“Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast…”
—Hebrews 6:19 (KJV)

Fear Not: God Is Still at the Helm

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God…”
—Isaiah 41:10 (KJV)

When fear knocks at the door, we answer it with faith. The Lord has promised to uphold us, strengthen us, and guide us through every shaking. The storm may be real—but so is His presence.

These Things Must Come to Pass

“Ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.”
—Matthew 24:6 (KJV)

Jesus did not leave us in the dark. He gave us prophecy not to frighten us—but to prepare us. Every fulfilled sign is a reminder: God is in control, and His plan is unfolding exactly as He said.

Perfect Love Casts Out Fear

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear…”
—1 John 4:18 (KJV)

We conquer fear by resting in His love. The more we draw near to the Savior, the less power fear has over us. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever—and He loves you without condition.

Watch, Pray, and Be Sober

“And take heed to yourselves… lest at any time your hearts be overcharged… with the cares of this life… Watch ye therefore, and pray always…”
—Luke 21:34, 36 (KJV)

Now is not the time to be distracted or disheartened. It is time to be awake and alert. Stay in prayer. Stay in His Word. Keep your eyes on the horizon—for our redemption draweth nigh (Luke 21:28).

Final Thought: Stay in His Peace

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
—Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)

Let this be your daily anchor. No matter what shakes the earth, we are steady—because our eyes are on the One who walks on water, calms the sea, and promises to carry us home.

Hold fast, dear brothers and sisters. We are in the boat—but so is Jesus. And the storm is already under His feet.
