"The Greatest Lie: You've Got Time"

In the unseen realm, a council gathers—not of light, but of shadow.

Darkness swirls. A throne of black fire sits in the midst of a cavernous abyss, and upon it broods the fallen one, Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. Around him stand his legions—once angels of glory, now twisted by pride and rebellion. Their eyes burn with hatred, not just for God, but for the crown of His creation: mankind.

With a voice like grinding iron, Satan speaks.

“They are awakening. Some are turning to the truth. Some are watching the signs. Some are warning others. We must not let this continue.”

The demons hiss and murmur, each eager to offer a plan. One steps forward and snarls, “Let’s tell them there is no God.”

Satan laughs, a sound like shattering stone.

“That lie is old. Many see the heavens and know. That one grows weak.”

Another slithers close. “Then tell them the Bible is a myth.”

A pause.

“That too has failed. The Word is fire—it burns even in the dark. Many read it and see light.”

Then, from the shadows, a sly voice speaks.

“Tell them the truth… but say, ‘You’ve got time.’”

The chamber stills.

Satan’s eyes narrow, and he leans forward.

“Go on…”

The demon grins. “Let them believe the Gospel. Let them hear about salvation. Tell them Jesus saves. But whisper in their hearts: ‘Tomorrow. You’ll repent tomorrow. You’ll believe later. You’ll get serious next week… next year… when you’re older… when life calms down.’”

Murmurs of agreement ripple through the darkness.

“Let them love the world just a little longer,” the demon hisses. “Let them chase comfort. Let them delay obedience. Just a few more days… until their time runs out.”

Satan rises, his wings stretching wide.

“Yes… Yes! The greatest lie is not denial. It is delay. They will not hear the trumpet if they are still sleeping!”

And so, the whisper goes out, carried on invisible winds:

“You’ve got time.”

Are you listening?

That lie may be closer than you think. The Word of God warns:

“Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.”
— Proverbs 27:1 (KJV)

Jesus Himself said:

“Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”
— Matthew 24:42 (KJV)

Today—not tomorrow—is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). Today is the day to repent, to believe, to surrender, to shine. The enemy wants you to wait. God wants you to wake up.

Don’t fall for the whisper of hell: “You’ve got time.”
Because the truth is, you may not.

Jesus is coming. Are you ready?

So, what do we need to do to prepare for the coming of Jesus Christ,—especially in the context of the end times? This requires spiritual readiness, faith in Christ, obedience to God, and holy living. Here are key biblical principles and passages that outline what we must do:

1. Be Born Again – Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
— John 3:3

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”
— Acts 16:31

There are several different interpretations of what being born again means. Let’s try to understand what Jesus meant when He told us that this was a requirement.

Being “born again” refers to a spiritual rebirth, not a physical one. This new birth takes place through faith in Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. It is a life-transforming experience in which a person turns from sin and wholeheartedly commits to following Jesus. Suddenly, they recognize that their life is different—they are a new creation. They’ve been “born again” into something far greater than what they were before.

This transformation is not the result of a simple prayer alone; it comes from a genuine surrender to Jesus Christ and a personal relationship with Him.

Jesus explains further in John 3:5:

“Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

To be born again is to have your heart and soul made new by God—a new creation in Christ (see 2 Corinthians 5:17). It is the beginning of a personal relationship with Jesus, marked by repentance, faith, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ is the essential starting point. Without it, no one can enter the Kingdom of God.

So, what else can we do? Here are some additional ideas of what we can do to be ready for the return of Jesus Christ.

2. Watch and Be Ready

“Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”
— Matthew 24:42

“Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”
— Matthew 24:44

Christ emphasized the importance of constant watchfulness—not just knowing prophecy, but living in a state of readiness.

In my preparation, I’ve found it incredibly helpful to focus on our future home—Heaven! I don’t get caught up in the worries of the end times, because I trust that God will see me through. But are you aware that we are literally just a few years away from living in the most glorious surroundings—with kind and loving people, under the perfect leadership of Jesus Christ? This fills me with excitement for what’s ahead, not dread.

3. Keep Your Lamps Burning – Be Filled with the Holy Spirit

“Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins… They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them… Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.”
— Matthew 25:1-13 (Parable of the Ten Virgins)

The oil represents the Holy Spirit. Only those who are spiritually filled and prepared will enter with the Bridegroom. I cannot stress this enough—many who call themselves “Christians” seem uninterested in understanding the times we are living in. This deeply saddens me. It feels as though they simply don’t want to face the reality of leaving this world behind. Please, stop listening to the adversary’s lie that “you’ve got time.” If you are, you’re falling right into his deception.

4. Live a Holy and Obedient Life

“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:”
— Hebrews 12:14

“And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.”
— 1 John 2:3

True faith leads to obedience and holiness. We are not saved by works, but works and holy living are the fruit of real faith.

5. Love One Another

“By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”
— John 13:35

“Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.”
— Romans 12:9

Genuine love for others is a key marker of those who are truly ready for Christ’s return.

6. Be Separate from the World

“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.”
— 2 Corinthians 6:17

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
— Romans 12:2

Preparing for Jesus also means living differently from the world and rejecting sin and compromise.

7. Share the Gospel

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations… Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you…”
— Matthew 28:19–20

“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.”
— Proverbs 11:30

We must be active witnesses of Christ’s love—warning others and helping them prepare. There are many people living on this planet who have no idea what’s coming. I compare it to seeing a car full of people stranded on train tracks… and you are the one who knows a train is coming. Would you just sit back and watch the train hit the car? No—you would do everything in your power, with a sense of urgency, to warn them and help them escape disaster.

Who should we warn? The answer is simple: everyone. If someone chooses not to listen, move on to the next person. Don’t stop sharing the truth.

So how can we begin a conversation about the gospel? A good approach—especially if you prefer helping others over sounding “preachy”—is to ask sincere, thought-provoking questions. Here’s one example of a script you might use:

“Do you believe we’re living in the end times? If so, what do you think is going to happen?”

This topic is already circulating in the news, and most people have an opinion. Chances are, they’ll tell you something they fear—perhaps the Antichrist, or God’s wrath. That’s your opportunity to offer hope:

“Did you know that God has a plan to rescue His people from the Tribulation? It’s called the rapture. But there are certain things you need to do to be part of that rescue. Would you like to know what they are?”

This is your chance to introduce the message of being Born Again.

Now, I should mention—there are many people who are truly born again, even if they don’t use that term. Someone might belong to a church, be fully dedicated to the Savior, and have experienced real change in their life through living His teachings. They may not have said a formal “salvation prayer,” but their transformation and devotion are strong evidence that they’ve been born again. Many of my own friends in various churches might not label themselves as “Born Again,” but by their fruits, it’s clear they have met the spiritual requirement Jesus spoke of.
