The Great Deception: Many Are Walking Away from God! WHY? Are You One of Them?

There’s a sorrow rising across the earth—a deep grief many of us are feeling but can’t always explain. It’s the sorrow of watching people give up on God. Maybe you’ve felt it yourself. You prayed with tears. You begged for healing, for direction, for peace. But heaven was silent. And in that silence, a whisper came:
“See? God doesn’t care. Just walk away.”

You’re not alone.

The Bible Warns This Would Happen

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first…”
— 2 Thessalonians 2:3 (KJV)

The Bible doesn’t sugarcoat it—a great falling away is coming, and already here. People are turning away from the faith not just because of rebellion, but because of disappointment, heartbreak, and silence from God.

When Prayers Go Unanswered

Maybe you asked for healing—but the sickness got worse.
Maybe you asked for strength—but only weakness came.
Maybe you cried for a sign—but the sky stayed quiet.

It’s easy to wonder, “If God really loved me, wouldn’t He show up?”

But listen: God sees the whole war, not just the current battle. His silence is not His absence. His delay is not His denial. And in this hour, the enemy is using unanswered prayers to plant deception.

The Deception: God Has Abandoned You

The Bible calls this moment a strong delusion—and it’s sweeping across the globe like wildfire.

“And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.”
— 2 Thessalonians 2:11 (KJV)

What’s the lie?

That God is done with you.
That prayer is pointless.
That darkness is winning.
That truth is relative.
That your pain is proof He’s not real.

But it’s not true. The cross is proof He loves you. The Word is proof He’s coming back. And your pain, though deep, is not the end of the story.

Why the Deception Is So Powerful

“Because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.”
— 2 Thessalonians 2:10 (KJV)

People are walking away because they never loved the truth—they loved comfort, feelings, religion, or results. When hardship came, their foundation cracked.

This deception is not just about false doctrine—it’s about false expectations. We expected God to make life easy. But He promised to make us holy, not comfortable.

What You Can Do

1. Hold fast to truth even when your feelings scream otherwise.

“Thy word is truth.” – John 17:17 (KJV)

2. Be honest with God—tell Him your doubts, your pain, your confusion.

“How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? for ever?” – Psalm 13:1 (KJV)
(Even David felt abandoned.)

3. Encourage others who are quietly falling away. Sometimes silence is the heaviest weight a soul can bear.
4. Ask for discernment. The deception is strong, but the Holy Spirit is stronger.

“He shall guide you into all truth.” – John 16:13 (KJV)

Change Your Expectations

Just for a moment, I’d like for you to consider your prayers, and then the expectations that you desire to come from those prayers. When we are FLOODED with problems, our prayers are to ask for these problems to stop coming at us so fast. We have faith that God has the power to make them stop…yet…they still come with a vengeance.

This makes us feel that God is ignoring us, perhaps, He’s busy with other things. This “betrayal” gives us thought of leaving Him as well.

We often judge our prayers to be answered when we get what we ask for, after having the faith necessary to get it. But is that really how it works? Is prayer a shopping list of requests?

Since COVID, I can say that my personal life has been turned upside down. Not just health wise, but is seems that EVERYTHING that I own breaks down, relationships are changing for the worst, and life has changed dramatically.

My prayers in asking for things to change have gone… “unheard.”

To put thigs into an eternal perspective though, I’ve come to realize that there are several reasons that this is happening.

God is helping us see the unimportance of things of this world. My boat continually breaking down has helped me see earthly pleasures as just that…”earthly.” This has helped me see and prepare for my new life, after I have crossed over into the next. My focus has shifted into the importance of “Building my mansion in heaven,” and not spending as much time with worldly things.

So, is God ignoring my prayers? No, He is helping me change my focus on their other things that are more important…My upcoming new life.

I can likely guess that you are experiencing similar things. Material things giving you problems, and mortal pleasures not being what they use to be. Am I correct in my assumption?

Satan’s Plan Creating Division from Our God

As God is preparing us for what’s to come in our next life, satan is all over suggestion that our God has forgotten us, by feeling that our prayers are not being answered as we would expect. “God has forgotten about you…you should forget about Him! If He was real, He would be solving your problems right now.” Are you experiencing those thoughts?

Religious Deception Discovered

As I’ve mentioned before, many people are exiting my church after finding out that leaders have been deceiving them. This mass exodus is understandable, for it is difficult to be lied to from spiritual leaders that you once trusted. It is important to note that if you are one that has had this discovery, God will deal with these dishonest men. They are responsible for hurting many of us, and He will judge them for their actions.

But the alarming things that I’ve discovered is that they are not only leaving the church, they are leaving God and His teachings as well.

When someone is taught that their church is the only true church on the earth, and then that church is caught being untruthful in many aspects of the religion, some people say… “Well, if this was supposed to be the only true church and it’s not, maybe the whole thing is a lie.” They then walk away from God as well. I’m certain satan is also whispering in the ears of those who have been deceived by leaders, suggesting that they walk away from God as well.

Can you see the many aspects that are causing many people to fall away from God, as prophesied in the KJV of the Bible? It’s happening, just as the prophecy mentioned that it would.

Don’t Give Up

This world is not our home. We are starting to realize that many things in our life are just for this world, and we will not be taking any of these things with us. We are in a war. The enemy is whispering, “God has left you.” But the cross declares, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” (Hebrews 13:5, KJV)

Let us change our focus onto things beyond the final days on earth, even in our prayers. As you pray, ask for strength, courage, understanding and help, God will ALWAYS answer those prayers with those blessings in our lives. Let Him guide you through the last days. Have faith in what He is doing in your life. And then ask Him to help you hang on, and to not give up…for this He will do for us.
