To Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and Those Who Have Left the Church - Please Read This “End Times” Information

(These writings are entirely my own opinion, obtained through independent study and prayerful research. I do not speak on behalf of any church or church representative.)

In my spiritual journey that I have experienced over the past two years, there is something that I have come to know… Weather you are a current member of the church, or if you have left the church for whatever reason, MANY if not all of you have a deep devotion to Jesus Christ. You have turned your life over to Him, and have chosen to live your “Best Life” in honoring His life and the teachings that He has shared while He was on the earth. We are all the same in this sense. We are as it states in the scriptures, His Chosen People.

The King James Version (KJV) uses several terms to describe those who are chosen by Christ or considered His children. The concept is clearly taught throughout Scripture using words like “elect,” “chosen,” “children of God,” and “sons of God.” Here are some relevant verses:

Christ’s Chosen / The Elect

John 15:16 (KJV)

“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit…”

Matthew 24:31 (KJV)

“And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect…”

John 1:12 (KJV)

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”

Romans 8:14 (KJV)

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”

1 John 3:1-2 (KJV)

“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God… Beloved, now are we the sons of God…”

Have you noticed the glowing countenance that comes from people who follow Jesus Christ? Can you pick these people out in a crowd? I certainly can. But have you also noticed that these people can belong to different churches, and some even not to a church at all? We receive this “Glow” as a result of following Jesus Christ, and NOT from a church. We are all united under the same actions…Following Jesus Christ as best as we know how to do. We are all in essence, “His Church,” because we follow Him.

We are unified as one, and are brothers and sisters in Christ. We are the same, and need to recognize this, and stop fighting among ourselves. Let us unite with our mutual worship of our Lord Jesus Christ, and not get hung up on a certain doctrine of a religious organization.

I value my relationship with Jesus Christ. Do you have this same conviction? I know that you do. We are the same here. This relationship should be first and foremost for all of us. Its importance should be placed over the doctrine of any organization. If a church helps us strengthen that relationship with Jesus Christ, it would certainly make sense to continue to be a part of that church.

I ask that you please see “us” as united, and change our focus to what Jesus Christ would be asking of us right now: To prepare for the Second Coming, and the End-Times.

Many of us fear the end times. Did we pay enough tithing? Are we worthy with the life that we have lived? Will we be destroyed at His coming. There might be some doctrinal difference in the answers between us, but right now…let’s find out what God has told us in the New Testament about preparing for the end times.

Jesus Will Come for His Church

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (KJV)

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

This is often referred to as the rapture, when Jesus gathers His faithful followers before God’s final wrath is poured out. Let’s keep learning…

The Church Will Be Kept From Wrath

1 Thessalonians 5:9 (KJV)

“For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Though there will be great tribulation, God promises to preserve His people spiritually and eternally, even if they suffer physically.

God Will Seal and Protect His Servants

Revelation 7:3 (KJV)

“Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.”

Before God pours out His judgments, He seals His people, marking them as His own for protection and deliverance.

Remember the teachings of the Bridegroom coming for the Bride, and how we’ve been taught about having enough oil in our lamps so that we will be prepared? What does that mean for all of those who follow Jesus Christ?

In the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible, the phrase about having enough oil in our lamps comes from the Parable of the Ten Virgins in Matthew 25:1–13. Here’s the key passage:

Matthew 25:1-4 (KJV):

1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

What Does the Oil Symbolize?

Having enough oil in your lamp is symbolic. Here’s the deeper meaning based on Scripture:

Spiritual Meaning of the Oil in Scripture:

1. Holy Spirit / Personal Readiness:
   • Oil often symbolizes the Holy Spirit in the Bible (e.g., 1 Samuel 16:13, Zechariah 4:1-6).
   • Having oil in your lamp means being spiritually prepared, walking in the Spirit, and having a real, living relationship with God through Christ.
2. Faith and Obedience:
   • The wise virgins prepared ahead of time—they lived in daily obedience, faith, and holiness.
   • The foolish were careless and unready when the moment came.
3. End Times Preparation:
   • The parable is directly about the Second Coming of Christ.
   • Being ready with oil means being watchful, spiritually alert, and not asleep in sin or lukewarm faith.

So, what does a person need to do in preparing for His coming. Is it all about paying tithing, or certain things that we need to do that will make a difference if we “burn” or not? Let’s find that answer in the New Testament:

Be Born Again

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
— John 3:3, KJV

Being born again means turning away from sin, placing your faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and receiving the Holy Spirit. All of you, regardless of if you are active members of the church or not, have devoted your life to Jesus Christ.

I’m certain that you all can look back on your life and realize when this occurred, and witnessed you being, “Born Again.” We were all changed from someone sinful, to someone who had a difference in their countenance. We looked different because we were different. It’s as if we were, “Born Again”.

If you have fulfilled this requirement of being “Born Again” you are prepared to meet Christ in His Second Coming. Let’s keep learning.

Have Faith in Jesus Alone

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
— Ephesians 2:8–9, KJV

You are not saved by paying tithing, temple attendance, or church membership—but by faith in Christ alone. Now this might be a big one to understand. Remember, I am strictly talking about being prepared for the return of Jesus Christ.

I’d like you to think about the atonement for just a moment. I’m certain that you have a testimony of what Christ did for us, when He made it possible to have our sins forgiven, and to become clean again. This act was so unselfish, and made the impossible…possible. A sinner is able to one day be in the presence and live with God. I’m again certain that you understand the significance of this gift.

It is important though to see this action as it was intended… A gift from Jesus Christ to us. It has NOTHING to do with us earning our way into heaven. If we are, as the scriptures teach, Born Again, and demonstrated our faith in the atonement, WE WILL BE SAVED!

It is “Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Don’t offend God and the atonement by thinking that you can earn your way into heaven, because you cannot! We are only able to enter heaven as a direct result of Christ’s gift to us in His atoning sacrifice…It has nothing to do with us and our actions.

This is the great news of the end times. If you indeed pray about what I have written, you too will come to know this as TRUTH! Knowing this eliminates any worry that you are not worthy enough, or that your tithings is not current…for NONE OF THAT IS REQUIRED! Again, you must be Born Again, and have faith in the atonement.

PLEASE do not buy into the lies that you must follow the churches checklist to make it through the end times and into heaven. YOU DON’T have to do any of those things. If those were necessary, Jesus Himself would have told you so in the New Testament which is the writing of what He taught when He was on the earth. Everything else has been added to keep you under the control of the church. The church does not belong in the way of your relationship with Jesus Christ. You have direct access to Him…no middle man.

My intent of this writing is to show you the peace that is offered in the gospel of Jesus Christ. There is no stressful pressure to be perfect so that you will be saved in the end times. Jesus has taken away our sins, and as we repent, He remembers them no more…So sins are not even considered in His judgment for what would He be judging?

If you do not believe in Christ, nor in His atonement, you are full of sin and Christ has plenty to Judge you for.

If you are worried about any past sin, repent. It’s that simple. Your confession can be directly to your Savior, Jesus Christ, for your forgiveness comes directly from Christ as well. There is no need for a church to be involved in your repentance process. They do not have the power of Jesus Christ to forgive, only He does.

I feel quite certain that when the church places itself between you and the Savior regarding repentance and forgiveness, they are actually offending God. They do not have this right to do so. Christ forgives us when we repent and follow Him…NO MATTER WHAT THE SIN IS. His atonement covers them all.

For a church to attach some form of punishment associated with our sin is not necessary for our forgiveness, for the atonement is ENOUGH. When this happens, It is suddenly not about forgiveness, but rather control is what they seek.

The time is short, as Jesus Christ will soon return. When it comes to the truth, all of us will know soon enough, for when we all die there will be only ONE TRUTH. No religions will be in heaven, just Jesus Christ who we will worship directly. There will be no middle man, or religious organization there. I invite you right now to follow Christ just as we will be following Him in the next life. Access Him directly without a middle man. Talk to Him, and listen to the things that He will tell you.

It is not a time to spend all of your effort picking apart the church. It is all of our responsibility in firming up our relationship with Jesus Christ. If what you are doing brings you closer to Christ, keep doing it. If what you are doing produces stress, judgment, and a hollow feeling, stop doing that, for there is Peace in Christ.

Eliminate any confusion by studying what Jesus said in the New Testament, for this is His Gospel. If you do this, I can PROMISE you that everything else will work itself out for you. Just prepare for the end times with the information in the New Testament, for that is all that you need to do right now. Everything else will be sorted out when we die and pass into the next life. And if there were things that we needed to do right now in preparing for that time, He would have told us in the New Testament.

I find great comfort in knowing the experience of the thief who was hanging on the cross at the same time that Jesus was. Here’s that story:

Luke 23:39–43 (KJV)

On the center cross hung Jesus, bruised, bloodied, and silent in suffering. On either side of Him were thieves—men condemned for their crimes.

One thief, hardened by sin and bitter with rage, mocked Jesus, saying, “If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.”

But the other thief, though in pain, turned his head as much as he could and rebuked his companion:
“Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.”

Then, in a trembling voice full of hope, he said, “Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.”

Jesus, battered and nailed to the cross, turned His eyes toward him—eyes full of mercy—and said the words that echo through eternity:
“Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.”

In that moment, though his body was dying, the repentant thief’s soul was saved. Hanging beside the Savior, he found grace in his final breath.

This thief did not pay tithing, nor did he belong to a church. He did however believe that Jesus was “Lord.” He knew that He as “God” as noted in his conversation. He asked that he be remembered. And the comforting result, Jesus said to him, “Today, thou shall be with me in paradise.” Not spirit prison, so that he could be taught the gospel, but Paradise! Jesus’s atonement was enough; it was not based upon the thief’s works.

I invite you to continue your learning about the “Gospel of Jesus” in the New Testament. Your study is in your hands, no one else’s. God has invited us to study and include Him:

James 1:5–6 (KJV):

5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

There is Peace in Christ…You Know This. Walk towards the light in your studies, for there is great peace there.
