Jesus Christ of the Bible vs Your Church’s Teachings – Knowing the Difference May Determine Your Own “Destiny”
Posted Aug 7, 2025 | End Times Watch | River Wilde
The world is currently full of confusion as it relates to God, Religions, and conflicting teachings. Does it really matter? Don’t all roads lead back to God? What is the TRUTH? How can I know what’s true for myself?
The following scripture says it all to me:
2 Corinthians 11:3 (KJV) – “But I fear, lest… your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”
Religions today have not only added their own narratives and rules, they have complicated the “Simplicity of Jesus Christ,” just as the scriptures indicate to us.
As I have been working with people over the past two years as a life coach, I have come to realize one very important thing…” There is only ONE truth, and it doesn’t matter what any of us believe, for our believes do not change the truth.” Truth is not changed or adjusted by the amount of faith that a person has, nor is it influenced by popular vote, it remains unchanged…The same yesterday, today, and forever.
I frequently think about life after death, and how so many people will be shocked at what the truth really is. Their church will be nowhere to be found, no temples, no buildings, no prophets to “worship,” just the truth, plain and simple…Surprise!!
So, what is the truth about Jesus Christ? It is indeed a lot easier to answer this question than you might think.
First off, you must understand that all truth comes Jesus Christ Himself, through the teachings of the Holy Ghost. Let’s confirm that statement:
John 14:26 – “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
John 16:13 – “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”
We must get in the habit of praying to God that He will confirm all truth to us through the Holy Ghost. As we listen to our thoughts and feeling when we study, we will feel His presence in guiding and confirming the truth.
Now, the easy part…Jesus Christ was actually on the earth. While He was here, He taught His gospel. In order for us to get to know Him and His gospel, we should key into what He taught when He was here. Nothing else!! He’s even told us that very thing…
Deuteronomy 4:2
“Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.”
Deuteronomy 12:32
“What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.”
Proverbs 30:5-6
“Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.”
Revelation 22:18-19
“For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book,
If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy,
God shall take away his part out of the book of life,
and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”
Are you seeing the simplicity here? Jesus preached his gospel and said that His teachings in the bible were it! Don’t add or take away anything to what He has instructed us.
He even went so far to say that even an angel does not have permission to teach anything other than what is written in the bible…
Galatians 1:8–9 (KJV):
“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”
Now that we have eliminated most of the confusion relating to various teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ, let learn exactly what Jesus taught…Let’s learn of His gospel as HE presented to the world while upon the earth.
The King James Version (KJV) of the Bible presents the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the “good news” of salvation by grace through faith. Here are the key points as written in Scripture:
1. The Need for Salvation (Sin and Separation)
- Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
- Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
- Isaiah 59:2 – “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God.”
Truth: Every person has sinned and is separated from God, deserving spiritual death.
2. God’s Love and Provision
- John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
- Romans 5:8 – “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Truth: God loves us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins.
3. Jesus’ Death, Burial, and Resurrection (The Heart of the Gospel)
- 1 Corinthians 15:1–4 – “…how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”
- Romans 4:25 – “Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.”
Truth: Jesus’ sacrifice paid for sin, and His resurrection brings justification and eternal life.
4. Salvation by Grace Through Faith, Not Works
- Ephesians 2:8–9 – “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
- Titus 3:5 – “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us…”
Truth: Salvation is a free gift of God’s grace, not earned by human effort or religious deeds. We do not earn our way into heaven through our works. It is through our faith in Christ’s atoning sacrifice that we will live with Him again.
5. Repentance and Faith in Christ Alone
- Mark 1:15 – “Repent ye, and believe the gospel.”
- Acts 16:31 – “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…”
- John 14:6 – “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Truth: We must turn from sin and trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation.
6. Receiving Christ Brings New Life
- John 1:12 – “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”
- 2 Corinthians 5:17 – “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
Truth: Faith in Jesus makes us children of God, transforming us with new spiritual life. This is what it means to be Born Again.
That’s it!!! That is the gospel of Jesus Christ as written in the KJV of the bible. We must invite Christ into our lives and be Born Again, which is simply believing in the atonement and repenting of our sins. Then to have faith that our sins will be forgiven.
Does this sound too simple? Consider this:
Jesus came to earth and went through a sacrifice, which is called the atonement, for us to receive forgiveness for their sins. This GIFT from Him is for ALL mankind…BUT EACH PERSON MUST ACCEPT it into their own life. If this is not done, then that person does not have the blessing of forgiveness and is responsible for all of their sins. The atonement gift is not just automatic for everyone, like everything else, we have been given free agency to accept or reject things in our own life.
Have you accepted the gift of the atonement into your life through prayer? Have you acknowledged His sacrifice for you, and will do your part in repenting for your sins, and trying to follow Him?
In my personal journey for the truth, it has become very evident of the corruption that has occurred through religions “businesses” claiming to represent Jesus Christ. The preachings that we need the church to make it into heaven is offensive to God. There is NOTHING that stands between us and our Savior Jesus Christ. No church, not religious rules or checklists…NOTHING.
As I think of my former religious leaders and what will happen to them when they meet Christ, I envision this scripture:
Matthew 7:23 (KJV):
“And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
This is part of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount where He warns that not everyone who outwardly claims to follow Him (even performing miracles or prophesying in His name) will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Instead, only those who truly do the will of the Father and have a genuine relationship with Christ will be accepted.
Sadly, I currently find joy in knowing that my former church leaders will be denied entrance into the kingdom of God. They have deceived me my entire life with false teachings. This deception has caused great heartache. Being betrayed from a spiritual leader is so damaging, and so many of us have been deeply affected. I am working to forgive them, yet I am still very far away from this accomplishment.
I ask God that I might be included in that meeting, so that I might be able to share the consequences of their betrayal, as I witness them being denied by Christ Himself. Your riches in hording our tithing will do nothing to release you from the accountability of your deception. “I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” seems to be a fitting consequence.
So, now you know where to find the gospel of Jesus Christ. Continue to study His words. Listen to Him and not just a preacher. He is the one that we can trust. He is the one that will reveal the truth to you. And, He is the one that has the ability to save your soul.
He is inviting all of us to come to Him. I ask that you answer His call. Learn the TRUTH of His gospel, as it will set you free.
John 8:32 (KJV):
“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

The gospel hinges on the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus/Yeshua. It further hinges on your own death, burial and resurrection. No you didn’t die physically but rather entered Christ death in order to know His life. Hence all things pass through death, burial and resurrection in order to leave behind issues still rooted in fleshly wisdom and rule. The stronghold that plagues humanity and religion is about people that refuse to die.
Romans 8:12-13 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.
Forgiveness comes by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Application
Jesus based on what you did on the Cross and by the Holy Spirit;
• Test by the Cross where I am still owned by my religious leaders in body, soul and spirit.
• Judge by the Cross the spiritual realm associated with these issues.
• Holy Spirit, I forgive but I also ask you to be the power of forgiveness I need.
Jesus, You are the resurrection power that now saves me and makes me new.
