Demanding Conditions and Conformity to Help Others: A Call for True Compassion

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Helping those in need should be rooted in genuine compassion, not in demanding conditions or conformity to specific beliefs or rules. When it comes to aiding the poor and hungry, the essence of charity lies in unconditional giving. Someone who is hungry doesn’t need to be told they must meet certain criteria before receiving help. They simply need food—nothing more, nothing less.

Consider this: a man approaches a Roman Catholic Church seeking help because he is starving. The priest, after a brief prayer, goes into the kitchen, returns with a plastic bag filled with food, hands it to the man, and says goodbye. The man leaves, satisfied, and the priest prays silently for him. This act exemplifies true charity—helping without strings attached, trusting that divine grace will take care of the rest.

Now contrast that with a Pentecostal Church. A hungry person asks for food, but the pastor insists that they must first attend the church services or meet certain spiritual requirements. The person, desperate and weak from hunger, might faint on the way, failing to meet the imposed conditions. This approach implies that divine help is contingent upon human rules—an assertion that diminishes the true spirit of charity.

From these examples, we see that God’s presence is evident in acts of unconditional kindness—like that in the Roman Catholic Church—not in rigid, conditional help. When you help the needy, do so without demanding conditions. The principle that “the right hand must not know what the left hand is doing” reminds us to act with humility and sincerity. True charity is about doing good quietly, without expecting recognition or reciprocation.

We are commanded to help strangers and those in our community. This is a moral obligation that transcends religious denominations or personal beliefs. I have personally helped over 600 people with food parcels. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I took the risk of breaking government restrictions—regulations that were aimed at controlling the virus but that inadvertently prevented aid from reaching the starving and unemployed. Despite the legal risks, I chose to prioritize human need over man-made rules because hunger and despair are urgent issues that must be addressed.

Helping others should stem from genuine compassion, not from a desire for recognition or to impose one’s beliefs. Do your part and trust that divine justice and mercy will follow. Leave the rest to God.

In conclusion, let us remember: aid given without conditions is the most powerful form of charity. Whether in times of crisis or daily life, true compassion recognizes no barriers, no demands—only the sincere desire to make a difference.

Please don’t forget to support my farming projects, which are dedicated to producing food and creating opportunities for the hopeless. Your generous donation—whether $50, $100, $250, $500, $1000, or $2000—can make a real difference in transforming lives and building a brighter future. Together, we can bring hope and sustenance to those in need.
