Pray for and Support Israel — A Command from God (KJV)

Throughout Scripture, God’s Word makes it clear that His chosen people, Israel, hold a special place in His divine plan — not just in ancient history, but in the unfolding events of the end times. As believers in Jesus Christ, we are called not only to pray for Israel but also to stand with her, even when the world turns against her.

God’s Promise to Bless Those Who Bless Israel

From the very beginning, God made an everlasting covenant with Abraham, promising to bless those who bless his descendants:

“And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee:
and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”
— Genesis 12:3 (KJV)

This is not an old or outdated command. God’s Word is eternal, and this promise still stands. When we bless and support Israel — whether through prayer, encouragement, or standing firm on biblical truth — we align ourselves with God’s eternal purposes. To curse or oppose Israel is to stand against what God has chosen and anointed.

Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem

God’s people are directly instructed to pray for Jerusalem’s peace:

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.”
— Psalm 122:6 (KJV)

This prayer is not just about peace in the Middle East. It is a prayer for the fulfillment of God’s prophetic promises, for the safety of His people, and ultimately for the return of the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, who will reign from Jerusalem during His millennial kingdom.

When we pray for Israel, we are praying in agreement with God’s plan — for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Israel in the End Times

The Bible tells us that in the last days, all nations will gather against Israel (Zechariah 12:3). We see this happening even now as global politics, media bias, and international organizations increasingly turn against the Jewish nation. But those who know the Scriptures understand that this is part of God’s prophetic timetable.

“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about… And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people.”
— Zechariah 12:2-3 (KJV)

While the world moves toward hostility, believers must move toward prayer. We are not called to side with popular opinion but with God’s eternal truth.

Standing with Israel as Followers of Christ

Supporting Israel does not mean ignoring the need for all people to find salvation in Jesus Christ — the Messiah of both Jew and Gentile. It means recognizing God’s sovereign hand on the nation of Israel and honoring His covenant promises.

The Apostle Paul reminds us:

“For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?”
— Romans 11:15 (KJV)

One day, the Jewish people will look upon the One whom they have pierced (Zechariah 12:10), and a great revival will come to Israel. Our prayers today prepare the way for that prophetic moment.

Conclusion: A Call to Action

Now is not the time for silence or indifference.
Now is the time for believers everywhere to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, to bless Israel, and to stand firm on the side of God’s covenant people.

Though the world may turn against Israel, God’s Word declares that He will never forsake her:

“For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.”
— Psalm 94:14 (KJV)

When we support Israel, we are standing with God’s eternal promise.
When we pray for Israel, we are aligning ourselves with His heart.
And when we bless Israel, we invite God’s blessing into our own lives.
