The Rapture Draws Near – How Can I Make Sure That I am Included, and Not Left Behind - The Answer Might Surprise You

There are people upon the earth right now who are very aware of what is happening spiritually around them. They see the prophesied biblical signs of the end-times happening, and know that the end is drawing near.

They have become fimilure with the concept of the Rapture, which is when Jesus Christ presents Himself in the clouds and calls for “His Church” to meet Him in the clouds, then taking them to “Heaven.”

I interact with people who are worried that they might not be included in this “rescue” event, and ask how they can be sure that they will be taken up and not be left behind. This is a legitimate worry, for even the scriptures mentions this even happening. Let’s look:

Matthew 24:40–42 (KJV)
40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

Clearly, we are not ALL going to be raptured. Many people will be left upon the earth to face the tremulous 7-year Tribulation Period. The most horrific chapter in history. Sadly, most of these people who will be left have no idea regarding the trouble that they will soon face.

So, what is required to be sure that you are included? Is it based upon your worthiness? Will it only be members of a certain church? Is it based upon our tithing? These are not the requirements at all. It is much simpler than that. Let’s back up and view the whole spiritual picture to get a better understanding of what is required.

Each of us came to earth for a reason; we were sent here to obtain a body, and have mortal experiences that would contribute to our spiritual growth. When God sent us to Earth, he knew that we all would sin. Did you catch that? He knew that ALL of us would sin.

Sin Separates Us from God

Isaiah 59:2
“But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”

All Have Sinned

Romans 3:23
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

The Wages of Sin

Romans 6:23
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

But God created a way for us to be cleansed from our sins. He would send His Son, Jesus Christ to earth, and perform a task called the atonement, where He would physically take on all of the sins of the world, so that we could be forgiven. Once forgiven, and cleansed from sin, we could once again be able to live with God in “Heaven.”

Cleansing Through Jesus Christ

1 John 1:7
“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”

Forgiveness and Repentance

Acts 3:19
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.”

This attornment was made available to ALL MANKIND, however, it is not forced upon anyone. Each person must freely choose to accept this attornment in their own life. Failure to do so, makes that person responsible for all of the sins that they have committed while on the earth, and disqualifies them from living with God in “Heaven” after they die. Can you see the significance here?

So, what is the process of accepting the atonement in your own life? It is the EXACT same answer as to how a person can guarantee that they are included in the Rapture. There is not a strict checklist regarding this process, but let me explain the concept.

John 3:3 (KJV):

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

These verses are part of Jesus’ conversation with Nicodemus, a Pharisee and ruler of the Jews. Nicodemus came to Jesus by night, curious about His teachings. Jesus used this opportunity to explain that spiritual rebirth—not physical birth or religious heritage—is required to enter God’s kingdom.

Being “born again” means being made new through faith in Jesus Christ, receiving the Holy Spirit, and turning away from sin. It’s not merely a change of behavior, but a transformation of the heart — a new creation in Christ (see 2 Corinthians 5:17).

Are you ready to do this? Are you ready to devote and give your life to Jesus Christ? Are you ready to accept His gift of the atonement into your life? Well, let’s do this right now:

Realize you are a sinner.
Understand that everyone has sinned and fallen short of God’s standard.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” — Romans 3:23

Believe in Jesus Christ.
Believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died for your sins, was buried, and rose again to give you eternal life. Continue learning of Him as taught in the Bible.

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” — Acts 16:31

Repent of your sins.
Turn away from your old life of sin and turn toward God with a sincere heart. Repentance is done between you and God through prayer. There is no need to involve a middle man in the repentance process, (church). You have direct access to God.

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.” — Acts 3:19

Confess Jesus as Lord.
Openly declare your faith in Him and ask Him to be your Savior and Lord.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” — Romans 10:9

Receive the Holy Spirit.
When you truly believe and accept Jesus, God gives you His Spirit to live inside you — this is the new birth, being born again.

“That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” — John 3:6

Begin a new life.
Live in obedience to God, growing in faith, love, and holiness. You are now a new creation in Christ. You will notice your life change, and will literally feel as if you have been born again. The new you is noticeable. With Jesus Christ in your life, your countenance will change, your desire to sin will diminish, (yet we still all make mistakes). You will LOVE the new you.

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

This is how you become “Born Again” as indicated in the scriptures. And once you have completed this process, you will ABSOLUTLY, POSITIVELY be included in the Rapture!

Doing this washes away your sins, and makes you clean again. Even when Born Again, we still will sin. However, we can continue to repent for those sins. I find myself setting aside each Sunday to think about the things that I am still doing wrong, and repenting for my short comings. We do not need to be perfect, for we will never achieve that in this life.

I hope that this information is helpful for you. I hope it brings you peace and comfort in knowing how you can be included in the Rapture. You will not only feel prepared for what is coming, you will begin to see peace immediately by including Jesus Christ in your life.
