Don’t Harass Boers and Whites in South Africa

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

By Collen Makumbirofa | Makumbirofa Farms

Some years ago, I visited a Boer Christian brother. It was a simple visit, yet it left a lasting impression. We talked, we laughed, we were genuinely blessed by the interaction. That memory stays with me — because it reminded me of something profound: that when human beings choose connection over suspicion, something powerful happens.

To my fellow Africans, I say this plainly and from the heart: let us respect and interact well with our white brothers and sisters.

They are not strangers to this land. Many possess skills, experience, and capital that can build businesses, create jobs, and strengthen communities. But beyond economics, beyond politics — they are human beings, created by God, with dignity that must never be violated. Let us look them in the eye and say without hesitation: you belong to South Africa.

Diversity Is Not Division

Racial unity does not mean thinking identically, eating at the same table, or erasing what makes each culture unique. It means mutual respect — the willingness to say: your way of life has value, and so does mine. South Africa is a nation of extraordinary cultural richness. That diversity, properly honored, is our greatest strength. We desperately need to embrace it rather than weaponize it.

I have no objection to white neighborhoods, or towns like Orania where people choose to live among their own culture. There is nothing wrong in that. In fact, we should learn from that model of community-building and cultural pride. What matters is that no community uses its walls to harm another.

We do not want the Boers to leave. They are woven into the fabric of South African history — its soil, its story, its future. Let us encourage them to stay, to invest, to build more companies, to plant deeper roots. And equally, let us encourage our successful black brothers and sisters to build enterprises, create employment, and inspire the next generation. And to the poor — do not despair. Be creative. Start something. A small venture, a garden, a skill — begin somewhere.

Law, Order, and Dignity

Here is a truth we must face without flinching: crime is destroying us. It tears communities apart, poisons trust between races, and drives away the very people and investment we need.

So let us make a collective commitment — pay your taxes, keep the law, report crime when you see it, and refuse to participate in it. Not through mob justice or taking the law into our own hands, but by standing with the police and the authorities to build the society we all want to live in.

Even in the grip of poverty — and I know how crushing poverty can be — do not steal. Do not kidnap. Do not rob. Poverty is a trial; crime is a choice. Choose dignity. Choose patience. Choose survival with your integrity intact.

And let us loudly, urgently, call for the death penalty for violent crime. The wave of murder, brutality, and farm attacks sweeping South Africa demands a serious response. Deterrence must be restored. Justice must have weight.

A Prayer for South Africa

I pray for fewer accidents on our roads.

I pray against farm murders — against every act of violence that steals a life and deepens a wound between our people.

I pray for blessings and peace upon every person in this beautiful, complicated, struggling, resilient country — across every race, every tribe, every language.

South Africa is your home. Live in it together. Tackle its problems together. Feel for one another across the divides that politicians exploit and history has carved. Do not fight. Do not persecute. Do not harass.

Help your neighbor. That is where it begins.
