Zimbabweans displaced by xenophobic violence are sleeping in the streets in Cape Town. They have been chased away from their homes in Cape Town townships. They have lost their jobs, and property to looters. They have lost everything they worked for, for many years, in South Africa.
Now they are waiting for humanitarian buses from Zimbabwe which are never coming. They continue sleeping outside.
They have lost everything they worked for, for many years, in South Africa — and still, the buses do not come.
But there are many rich Zimbabweans who can’t even help their brothers in crisis. There are many rich companies in Zimbabwe that collect millions but can’t send buses to fetch the vulnerable.
A Question For The Wealthy
If those with the means will not come for their own people in their darkest hour, who will? The vulnerable are sleeping in the streets of a foreign city while fortunes sit idle at home.
