The study aims to inject about 350 healthy Canadian adults, ages 18 to 70, with the shot and possible booster doses.

Researchers plan to monitor participants through 2028.

A similar multi-strain candidate, mRNA-1975, is also moving forward.

This vaccine uses the exact same mRNA technology as Moderna’s COVID-19 shots.

It tells the body’s cells to produce a protein from the bacteria that causes Lyme disease.

Lyme is a serious issue, but rushing this flawed platform back into healthy people looks less like careful science and more like a calculated push for new revenue streams.

The COVID mRNA vaccines were sold to the public as safe and highly effective. In reality, protection dropped off quickly—often within months.

Some studies found negative effectiveness against certain variants, where vaccinated people had higher chances of infection.

Serious side effects piled up, including heart inflammation like myocarditis and pericarditis (especially in young men), nerve problems, blood clots, and autoimmune reactions.

Questions about excess deaths in heavily vaccinated populations only added to the damage and shattered public trust.

Even more alarming are the unresolved problems with how mRNA works in the body.

Research shows the proteins these shots produce can get packaged into tiny particles called exosomes.

These particles show up in blood, saliva, and other fluids, raising real questions about “shedding” to family members or close contacts.

A 2023 review that included input from Moderna scientists admitted major ongoing issues with toxicity, ingredients spreading unpredictably through the body, and overly strong immune reactions.

Yet the new Lyme trial does not seem to seriously test for these risks, leaving big holes in informed consent.

Moderna earned billions from the COVID vaccines despite their shortcomings.

Instead of fixing the durability and safety problems, the company is aggressively expanding the same technology to new targets like Lyme—on healthy people, no less.

This feels like corporate momentum and profit chasing, not responsible medicine.
