I.C.E., the Constitution, the 2nd Amendment, Alex Pretti, Trump, and More: Is it a Slippery Slope?

Well, if you haven’t heard about ICE Agents and the problem in Minnesota by now, you must not listen to and watch the news on radio, television and internet. In case you haven’t heard, two people have recently been killed by ICE Agents. Many people, usually leftist democrats, think that it’s wrong for ICE Agents to find illegal immigrants and deport them. However, the constitution says otherwise saying that the federal government is supposed to protect citizens and enforce immigration laws. Interestingly, leftist democrats actually care about states’ rights in this situation when it seems that usually it’s the other way around.
As you can see from the meme above quoting the tenth amendment, states’ rights are important. But they only have priority over the federal government when the constitution is silent. There’s a built-in tension. Constitution silent = States prevail; Constitution not silent = Federal Government prevails.

When it’s all said and done, it’s a slippery slope. What ICE is doing is constitutional. But it’s setting a ‘legal’ precedent to do something similar that’s unconstitutional and illegal in the future. Remember things that were said about Trump supporters during the Biden Administration? People have a right to protest and to carry a weapon. If Alex Pretti was brandishing the gun, he was wrong. If he wasn’t, ICE was wrong. But seemingly, there’s nothing in the videos showing he was brandishing his gun.
But Trump recently told a reporter that a gun shouldn’t have been taken to the protest in Minnesota. I don’t know the motive of the reporter, but Trump said that twice while she kept saying “what about the 2nd Amendment?” Here’s the video on X/Formerly Twitter if you can get to it: Trump On Guns At Protests. Trump is wrong on this. It may not be wise to take a gun to a protest, but it is constitutionally protected. ICE Agents aren’t perfect. The Biden Administration created this mess and Pretti already had a confrontation with ICE previous to this incident and was acting out this time. It’s a shame that he was killed, but I don’t see leftist democrats concerned about the people killed by illegal immigrants, do you?

Sadly, these ICE protesters are doing for the wrong reasons what true patriots should have and may again have to do for the right reasons. I’ve been writing about this for years. No attacking of police, no looting, no riots. But if/when all the nonsense comes back, we better be ready. No more open borders, not more gun control. they can’t have our guns, no more unfair trade agreements, and no more extreme fraud (shouldn’t be any but we’ll never get rid of it all). But mark my words: If the leftist democrats get back in the white house, it’ll make their last term look like a Sunday picnic AND the National Debt will still be YUGE! Are you paying attention yet?
