Short-term price fluctuations do not influence long-term trends, cycles, and profitability. The majority, guided by price trends and emotions, concentrate on short-term trading noise rather than cyclical trends of price, time, and energy. This focus creates confusion, frustration, missed chances, and typically leaves them holding the bag during trend shifts. Investors can sidestep this pattern by embracing the Evolution of the Trade and aligning with the minority.

The Blue Screen of Death continues to rain down on the corn bulls and weigh on Ag (please watch 07/19/24 Report — Blue Screen of Death update). The invisible hand has left many scratching their heads in confusion, and some citing conspiracies across social media to attract attention and followers.

A record short position by the Reportables has become the mantra while the arrows rain down. The majority appears to be embracing it as a driver for a future short-covering rally. We have long said, follow the majority at your own risk. You’ll have lots of followers, likes, and won’t get blocked, but it risks survival.

The corn report discusses trends and strategies needed for survival. The record short position, for example, is offset by a record long position, thus, placing it in relative balance against a well-defined primary and composite downtrends. The computer reminds us that the nonreportables (retail traders), a group that loves to follow the majority mindset, keeps the primary and composite trend in relative balance through selling rallies and buying dips (see Chart 1). Retail money’s (noreportables) buying of the dip, a rising NR WA (67% and rising) as price declines, prevents capitulation (see Chart 2). We have said this for numerous weeks. Capitulation triggered the 2020 rally and numerous buying opportunities until 2022.
