Title IX was passed to protect women’s sports from interference and demotion because of the sex of the athletes. At the collegiate level it is arguably why women’s sports exist.
The Supremes heard two cases yesterday attempting to overturn state laws which have established that boys who declare themselves “trans” cannot play on girl’s sport teams. One of the plaintiffs has further been accused of sexual harassment of the girls on said team in the locker room (he denies it, and from what I understand the disposition of that is unsettled) with the gist of the claims being lewd statements regarding the girls’ sexuality.
