PoE: Frost Wall Deals the Same Amount of Damage of Cold Snap
So I made and abandoned a Frost Wall trapper this league after getting fed up with the giant bug Frost Wall traps has. All the walls spawn facing the same direction, all the time, no matter what. So unlike self-cast Frost Wall which positions itself relative to your character to wall off the greatest width, it walls North-West to South-East. Every time. Always.
It means that with Clustertrap sometimes two traps will get placed along this axis and essentially be one slightly elongated Frost Wall, neutering your AoE coverage. Act 6 onwards this leaves you without enough AoE to clear passably with the increases in density. The in-game currency is available at the professional online gaming house. Bringing this up because I remember initially trying this when I made my Frost Bomb trapper leagues and leagues ago and the interaction being the same as it was then, but with the skill reworks coming maybe this will get fixed, or at least if not changed to the same as self-cast then to spawn randomly for better aoe coverage than the current state.
On a side note, for anyone curious, Frost Wall trap does amazing damage to anything large or that can not get displaced and does about half the damage of a point blank freeze pulse normally, but can hit multiple times per wall. Figured something like that, but something with an end result so janky probably isn’t strictly classified as intended. And thanks, all I do is meme builds. Did 1% move speed Charged Dash a few leagues back before it got fixed. This league I’m doing stuff like Blade Flurry Glitterdisc Righteous Fire AoF Chieftain, Frostbreath/Cospri’s Dual Strike and CoC Cyclone Vortex Saboteur to name a few.
