Druze, Tommy Robinson arrested for showing video, Queer the vote and more: Links 1 for July 28th, 2024

1. The word on Twitter is that Tommy Robinson was arrested for showing this documentary he made at a protest he organized. The state claims it is because he makes false claims about something or other, and not having watched it yet, I do not know what those might be.

Like Hate speech laws, saying something the state says is untrue is now clearly dialectically enforced. And in a Republic, freedom of speech means the right to say whatever you want, even if its a lie. Especially about the state and about politics. Because the cost to liberty is greater when the state determines what is true.

We all saw that during Covid. In fact Orwell could not have written a better example. But I have personally seen this in the trials of Helen Grus and many other doctors attacked by the media and captured institutions like the CPSO and equivalent orgs. across Canada. And at no point are they, or other doctors held to account when it was made clear they supported a narrative which was proven untrue. Even by official documents provided via a FOIA request.

Therefore, Tommy’s documentary must be seen if for no other reason than because the state has drawn a line at that point. Tommy was arrested, and this documentary was banned. So the assumptions above are decent ones pending more information.

2. This is interesting. So Obama… voting.,. another great example of no matter how much truth is exposed, it won’t make any difference. I think Yuri Bezmenov explained that would be exactly how the West would be in his famous interview in 1984. You can see it in this short segment.

3. More on the Druze and demands for Israel to respond, not just to Hizb’allah, but to Syria and other terrorist regions forcing Israeli citizens to live under constant bombardment.

4. Speaking of the dialectical application of freedom of speech, this article is quite good from someone I would call, a left-libertarian. He details how one of the organizations recently created to validate news as being consistent with the party policy came to visit him once he caused them to notice him. Really, this article should be read inside your head using a 20th century era Soviet accent.

The most chilling words today: I’m from NewsGuard and I am here to rate you

Recently, I wrote a Hill column criticizing NewsGuard, a rating operation being used to warn users, advertisers, educators and funders away from media outlets based on how it views the outlets’ “credibility and transparency.”

Roughly a week later, NewsGuard came knocking at my door. My blog, Res Ipsa (jonathanturley.org), is now being reviewed and the questions sent by NewsGuard were alarming, but not surprising.

I do not know whether the sudden interest in my site was prompted by my column. I have previously criticized NewsGuard as one of the most sophisticated operations being used to “white list” and “black list” sites.

My new book, “The Indispensable Right: Free Speech in an Age of Rage,” details how such sites fit into a massive censorship system that one federal court called “Orwellian.”

For any site criticizing the media or the Biden administration, the most chilling words today are “I’m from NewsGuard and I am here to rate you.”

Conservatives have long accused the company of targeting conservative and libertarian sites and carrying out the agenda of its co-founder Steven Brill. Conversely, many media outlets have heralded his efforts to identify disinformation sites for advertisers and agencies.

Read the rest at the link above. But this isn’t about the media or the Biden admin. This is about the COMINTERN. Die Partei. Harris is a better rep for it than Bden is, who is if anything, a rep for cottage industry ice cream. At least in term of any actual agency he has left.
