2. There is a ton of stuff about the drones over the Eastern US states now. None of it has any impact on my thesis of this morning that I can see.

(You know what else vanishes? Laser pointers and holograms when you turn them off. Then they can reappear somewhere else! and move in impossible ways for a vehicle!)

Coast Guard said he was followed by 30 drones. Weird that no one on the Coast Guard ship had a phone with a camera on it.

Mysteriously, any drone they send up to check it out loses power and batteries are drained.

Anyway, lots more on this all over the place but nothing indicating it isn’t some part of the counter-state.

3. Biden Quietly Commuted Sentences Of Chinese Spies

President Joe Biden announced on Thursday that he was granting 39 pardons and 1,499 commutations in what his administation called the “largest single-day grant of clemency in modern history.” But it’s not Thursday’s set of commutations that have caught the attention of concerned Americans — it’s those that were quietly given weeks ago to Chinese spies.

X user Nick Sortor posted that “Joe Biden just pardoned multiple Chinese spies and an individual convicted of possessing child p*rnography. WHY?”

But the thing is, Biden didn’t “just” commute the sentences for these criminals — he did it quietly only days before Thanksgiving.

While most Americans were finalizing their menus and getting into the holiday spirit, Bidencommuted the sentence of Yanjun Xu on November 22. Xu was convicted in 2022 for “conspiracy to commit economic espionage; conspiracy to commit trade secret theft; attempted economic espionage by theft or fraud; attempted theft of trade secrets by taking or deception.”

But according to Biden’s pardon, “it is in the national interest that the term of imprisonment related to the aforesaid conviction not be served in its entirety.”

Xu was ordered to leave the United States and never return or commit any other crimes against the United States, according to the pardon.

This feels like it’s something. Doesn’t it?

5. Assisted dying now accounts for one in 20 Canada deaths

Medically-assisted dying – also known as voluntary euthanasia – accounted for 4.7% of deaths in Canada in 2023, new government data shows.

The country’s fifth annual report since euthanasia was legalised in 2016 showed around 15,300 people underwent assisted dying last year after being successful in their applications.

The median age of this group was more than 77. The vast majority – around 96% – had a death deemed “reasonably foreseeable”, due to severe medical conditions such as cancer.

In the small minority of other cases, patients may not have been terminally ill, but sought an assisted death due to a long and complicated illness that had significantly impacted their quality of life.

Canada is among a few countries that have introduced assisted dying laws in the past decade. Others include Australia, New Zealand, Spain and Austria.

In Canada, consenting adults can request medical assistance in dying from a healthcare provider if they have a serious and irremediable medical condition.

Some provisions are in place, including a requirement of having two independent healthcare providers confirm that the patient is eligible before their request is approved.

More than 320,000 people died in Canada in 2023, and 15,300 of those deaths – about one in 20 – were medically assisted.
