Conservative MP calls COVID mandates in Canada ‘full communism’

Strauss, an emergency care doctor, said in his maiden speech to fellow MPs that “the zenith of all this top-down control came during the pandemic. The members opposite went full communism

“They locked Canadians down in their homes, ruined weddings, funerals, Easters, proms and Christmases, closed the borders, kept mothers from children and brothers from sisters, deprived the House of its ancient rights, spent $600 billion of taxpayer money with no budget and doubled our national debt to pay healthy 16-year-olds to sit in their basement,” said the MP for Kitchener South-Hespeler.

When the pandemic started, Strauss was an assistant professor at Queen’s University’s medical faculty.

After he was dismissed, he filed a $600,000 claim against the university, alleging he was fired because he was critical of COVID mandates.

“At Queen’s University where I taught, Jane Philpott herself, one of the only two cabinet ministers to speak truth to Justin Trudeau’s power, informed me in her dean’s office that ‘the reason the administration had to harass me was that I criticized the government,’” he told the Commons. “That is a direct quote.”

Let’s hope he takes over as leader of the Conservative Party.

I would like to add that one solid proof of the communist nature of Canada today, is that growing up, whenever someone got serious news from a doctor, the reflexive response from all friends and family was, “Get a second opinion”. Now you cannot even get a first opinion. Doctors parrot what the state tells them, even when it is a really, really bad idea.

2. So happy that the good doctor in item 1. read Carney’s book and understands his intentions and motives. Something Canadians typically will not do, and if you wave it in front of them, won’t believe it. I know, I tried it recently to someone who simply won’t take it from Carney himself that his role models are Marx, Engles and Lenin and capitalism he feels, is the big problem.

Privacy At Risk: Government Buries Lawful Access Provisions in New Border Bill

The government yesterday introduced the Strong Border Act (Bill C-2), legislation that was promoted as establishing new border measure provisions presumably designed to address U.S. concerns regarding the border. Yet buried toward the end of the bill are lawful access provisions that have nothing to do with the border. Those provisions, which raise the prospect of warrantless access to information about Internet subscribers, establish new global production orders of subscriber information, and envision new levels of access to data held by electronic service providers, mark the latest attempt in a longstanding campaign by Canadian law enforcement for lawful access legislation. Stymied by the Supreme Court of Canada (which has ruled that there is a reasonable expectation of privacy in subscriber data) and by repeated failures to present a compelling evidentiary case for warrantless access, law enforcement has instead tried to frame lawful access as essential to address everything from organized crime to cyber-bullying to (now) border safety. Much like the government’s overreach last year on online harms, Bill C-2 overreaches by including measures on Internet subscriber data that have nothing to do with border safety or security but raise privacy and civil liberties concerns that are bound to spark opposition. This post provides the background on lawful access and an overview of some Bill C-2’s provisions with more details on key elements to come.

Lawful Access Background

The pressure from Canadian law enforcement for access to Internet subscriber data dates back to 1999, when government officials began crafting proposals that included legal powers to access surveillance and subscriber information. What followed were a series of lawful access bills that sparked opposition – both in the public and effectively in the courts. For example, a 2010 lawful access bill included mandated the disclosure of Internet provider customer information, including customer name, address, phone number, email address, Internet protocol address, and a series of device identification numbers without court oversight.

That bill stalled, but in February 2012, then-Public Safety Minister Vic Toews introduced Internet surveillance legislation that once again sparked widespread criticism from across the political spectrum. Toews infamously said to Francis Scarpaleggia, now the Speaker of the House but then a critic of the bill, that he “could stand with us or with the child pornographers.” The comment did not help his case and the overwhelming negative publicity pressured the government to quickly backtrack by placing it on hold.

3. Canadian police launched criminal investigations into Canadians with Israel citizenship for crimes against humanity.

There’s a New “Jew List” in Canada

A new publicly available database, currently listing 85 individuals, names Canadians who served in the IDF, including at least one killed during the Hamas-led October 7th massacre

Davide Mastracci, managing editor of The Maple, has compiled a public database containing personal information on Canadian citizens who served in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). The database includes Ben Mizrachi, a Canadian citizen murdered by Hamas during the October 7th, 2023, attack at the Supernova music festival. The entry on Mizrachi omits any mention of Hamas, stating only: “Ben Mizrachi, dead at 22, was born and raised in Canada, growing up in Vancouver.”

Mastracci, is a self-described “Aspiring Marxist” who frequently expresses his support for Hamas on social media, which is a Canadian-designated terrorist organization. Mastracci actively encourages public participation in the project, urging individuals to submit tips about other Canadians who have joined the Israeli military.

Canada opens war crimes probe into dual Israeli-Canadian IDF soldiers

Canada quietly probing citizens over alleged war crimes committed while serving in the IDF during Gaza war; launched in 2024, investigation remains unannounced; Jewish community voices concern: ‘Canada is becoming more hostile toward us by the day’

Canada’s federal police have launched a criminal investigation into several IDF soldiers who also hold Canadian citizenship, on suspicion of crimes against humanity allegedly committed during their military service, Canadian media reported Tuesday. The report, first published by the Toronto Star, marks the first time Canadian authorities have formally opened a war crimes investigation against dual Israeli-Canadian nationals. The move has triggered concern and controversy within Canada’s Jewish and Israeli communities.

According to the report, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are investigating Canadian citizens who served in the IDF, whether in active duty or as reservists, during the war in Gaza. The probe reportedly began in 2024 but remained under wraps until now. It could include evidence collection, information sharing with international bodies and potentially even indictments on Canadian soil.

           The RCMP classified the effort as “structural investigations,” a term used for inquiries into war crimes and crimes against humanity. These types of investigations fall under Canada’s Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes Program (CAHWCP), which is jointly operated by the RCMP, the Department of Justice, the Canada Border Services Agency and the country’s immigration and citizenship authority.

4. Chinese agents have been caught smuggling in a dangerous fungus which appears to be a biological weapon against both man and crops.

BREAKING: Two Chinese nationals have been charged for allegedly smuggling a dangerous biological pathogen into the U.S. called “Fusarium graminearum” that could cripple the U.S. economy, food supply, and endanger American lives.

The FBI arrested Yunqing Jian (33) and Zunyong Liu (34) for allegedly smuggling the noxious fungus into the U.S. that “causes ‘head blight,’ a disease of wheat, barley, maize, and rice, and is responsible for billions of dollars in economic losses worldwide each year,” according to the DOJ.

Fusarium graminearum’s toxins cause vomiting, liver damage, and reproductive defects in humans and livestock.

FBI Director Kash Patel: “This case is a sobering reminder that the Chinese Communist Party continues to deploy operatives and researchers to infiltrate our institutions and target our food supply, an act that could cripple our economy and endanger American lives.”

“Smuggling a known agroterrorism agent into the U.S. is not just a violation of law, it’s a direct threat to national security. I commend the FBI Detroit Division and our partners at CBP for stopping this biological threat before it could do real damage.”
