It was not the North Koreans who hacked Sony, it was the Russian Mafia. These are the same folks who had “proof” of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and “proof” that Sadam Hussain was conneted with Al Quaeda. They created their “proof” to help build a case for some kind of action against North Korea, the same as they did with Iraq.
Because the attacks started before the movie was even being mentioned, it makes so much more sense that it was not North Korea. It is known that 5 Sony executives were sent emails demanding money before the movie was mentioned as well. The Russian Mafia got a big cash payment from Sony, and they will get weekly cash payments indefinitely, and Sony will accept that as part of their “new normal” operating expenses.
