Jaipur: The International Horticulture Innovation and Training Centre (IHITC), Durgapura, Jaipur, has launched the ‘Smart City Roof-Top Farming Project’ to promote vegetable cultivation on the rooftops of private residential buildings within the municipal limits.
Under this scheme, only owners of private residential buildings in the Jaipur Municipal Corporation area are eligible to apply. Commercial establishments, institutions, or other non-residential buildings are not eligible.
The total estimated cost of constructing a rooftop unit is Rs 53,619, of which 70 per cent (Rs 37,534) will be provided as a govt grant, while the remaining 30 per cent (Rs 16,085) must be borne by the beneficiary.
The last date to apply for the project is 31 October 2025. Interested applicants can submit their forms on a firstcome, first-served basis from 1 October to 31 October 2025. The application process will be offline, and forms can only be obtained from the institute’s office. Guidelines, eligibility criteria, and the application form can be obtained from IHITC, Durgapura, Jaipur.
