Under the new stewardship, Clean, Green, Beautiful plans to:
Adopt out raised gardens for our “Grow a row, give a row” program to various marginalized groups in the community;
Reintroduce pollinator-friendly plants and native species;
Host community planting days, workshops, and youth programs; and
Partner with local schools and organizations for education and outreach.
“I’m pleased to see this new lease agreement move forward,” says Deputy Mayor Maggie Horsfield, who also serves on the Clean, Green, Beautiful North Bay board. “While the garden has long supported important food programs, Clean, Green, Beautiful North Bay’s plans build on that history and create even more opportunities for the community to get involved. I’m excited to see what’s ahead.”
The garden’s mission will continue to focus on community wellness, food security, environmental and social sustainability—values that align strongly with the Clean, Green, Beautiful initiative.
