Located on the 3rd floor, the garden spans 72 square meters and is thoughtfully designed. Along the rooftop, Mr. Tuan has constructed two long cement troughs on either side. In the center, he has placed plastic barrels with a capacity of 100 liters or more for growing vegetables and fruits.
“To avoid affecting the house’s structure, I had to thoroughly waterproof the rooftop garden before starting work. Additionally, I raised the planters to ensure quick drainage and easy cleaning,” Mr. Tuan explained.
In the garden, the homeowner prioritizes planting short-season varieties that are easy to care for, quick to harvest, and adapt well to the local climate, such as kale, eggplant, tomatoes, herbs, gourds, and pumpkins.
The vegetables and fruits in the garden are growing well and yielding regular harvests.
Regarding fruit trees, he has also successfully cultivated many varieties such as cantaloupe, guava, pomegranate, Thai apple, and sapodilla. Notably, his garden also has four grapevines: Peony, Black Queen (Japanese), Black Ha, and Red Kyoho.
