Canada: City Farmer’s Library Catalogued by AI

Urban Agriculture Library Started In 1978

We started our library in 1978 collecting books and documents related to urban agriculture from around the world. A portion of that library remains with the Society and we have used AI to catalogue it. Simply using an iPhone, we took six photos of the shelves and uploaded them to Chat GPT.
Because we shot 6 photos of the shelves and uploaded them separately, I have placed everything that was presented to us from the separate prompts as one long stream in a Word file. I also asked Chat GPT’s to take all the answers and make a master catalogue which is attached here as an Excel spreadsheet.
More of our books are in other shelves and a cupboard and these will be added later. File cabinets full of historical documents are archived separately and are not easy for AI to record.
The idea for this AI cataloging came from Deepa Chaudhary, Founder, AI for Grants, Grantorb.com
Sample from AI response:
Absolutely. I can make a more focused catalogue from this photograph. I’ve separated the books according to the subject areas already marked on the shelves, and I’ve added authors where I can read or verify them. Where the spine is not sufficiently clear, I have marked the author as uncertain rather than guessing.
