Goliath Resources Ltd. (GOT:TSX.V; GOTRF:OTCQX; B4IF:FSE) reported new Surebet Discovery drill results as 2026 drilling expanded the Bonanza Zone in multiple directions.
Goliath Resources Ltd. (GOT:TSX.V; GOTRF:OTCQX; B4IF:FSE) reported assay results from drill holes GD-26-426, GD-26-431, and GD-26-442 at the Bonanza Zone of the Surebet Discovery on its 100%-owned Golddigger Property in British Columbia’s Golden Triangle.
Drill hole GD-26-431 intersected two mineralized intervals along the western fringes of the Bonanza Zone. The first assayed 9.12 g/t gold equivalent (AuEq) over 11.27 meters, including 13.89 g/t AuEq over 7.14 meters. The interval consisted of stockwork and breccia veins associated with calc-silicate and biotite alteration, with visible gold to the naked eye, galena, sphalerite, and pyrrhotite. A second, deeper interval assayed 4.70 g/t AuEq over 3.03 meters within a broader interval of 1.08 g/t AuEq over 20.00 meters. The second interval was proximal to the Big Bulk Zone.
GD-26-442 targeted a 100-meter step-out expansion of the Bonanza Zone to the north and intersected 8.35 g/t AuEq over 4.15 meters, including 31.42 g/t AuEq over 1.00 meter. Mineralization consisted of quartz-sulphide veins associated with localized biotite and sericite alteration, visible gold, galena, sphalerite, and pyrrhotite.
GD-26-426 tested a 100-meter step-out of the Bonanza Zone to the north-northwest and intersected 2.93 g/t AuEq over 7.00 meters, including 5.07 g/t AuEq over 3.91 meters. The intercept consisted of sheared quartz breccia containing visible gold, along with massive to stringer concentrations of sphalerite, pyrrhotite, galena, and chalcopyrite.
Drilling during the 2026 program expanded the Bonanza Zone by 750 meters to the southwest, 100 meters to the west, 100 meters to the north, and 160 meters to the northeast. The Bonanza Zone footprint increased to 1.51 square kilometers from 1.27 square kilometers, a 19% increase, while the overall Surebet system footprint increased 12% to 2.01 square kilometers from 1.8 square kilometers. The Golden Gate Zone increased 38% to 1.17 square kilometers from 0.85 square kilometers.
Visible gold had been intersected in multiple veins and shear zones in 52 of 92 holes drilled in 2026. All drill holes from the 2026 program completed to date had intersected quartz-sulphide mineralization. Only a small number of holes from a total of 97 drill holes in the year’s program had complete AuEq assays reported to date.
Dr. Quinton Hennigh, Advisor to Goliath and Strategic Investor, commented, “In 2026, the company used a systematic approach to drilling that already has demonstrated a significant increase in the overall size of this system that still remains open both laterally and to depth.”
The fully funded 2026 drill program comprised approximately 50,000 meters of systematic drilling using seven drill rigs. Drilling targeted the expansion of known gold mineralization laterally and at depth, with work focused on the Bonanza, Eldorado, Golden Gate, Surebet, and Whopper zones.
Kitco News reported on September 18 that gold had remained resilient following the Federal Reserve’s 25-basis-point rate increase, despite elevated U.S. bond yields and persistent inflation. Analysts cited fiscal conditions, inflation, geopolitical uncertainty, and changing global reserve allocations among the broader factors supporting demand for the precious metal.
Chris Vecchio, head of futures and forex strategy at Tastylive, said investors had looked beyond the latest rate increase toward broader fiscal conditions. Jeff Sarti, CEO of Morton Wealth, similarly focused on government spending and deficits. “I think any minor 25 basis points here, or there, is noise,” Sarti said. “I think the bigger signaling points are fiscal.”
Ole Hansen, Head of Commodity Strategy at Saxo Bank, pointed to investment demand as gold-backed exchange-traded fund holdings reached a seven-month high despite recent weakness in the metal’s price. “This highlights a market where demand from less interest-rate-sensitive investors remains firm, even with yields still elevated,” Hansen said. He added that underlying demand from investors had provided an offset to traditional macroeconomic headwinds.
Stifel analyst Cole McGill reiterated his Buy rating on September 11, 2026, giving the company a CA$4.25 target price.
Reuters reported on September 20 that gold prices had changed little as market participants assessed developments in the Middle East and their implications for inflation and interest rates. Oil prices had declined as investors monitored a recovery in shipments from Saudi Arabia, while several major central banks had recently raised interest rates amid inflation concerns.
“The focus remains on geopolitics, oil and the reaction in bond yields,” Tim Waterer, chief market analyst at KCM Trade, told Reuters. Rising rates had generally weighed on demand for gold by making interest-bearing assets more attractive, while gold had also been regarded as an inflation hedge.
Trading Economics subsequently reported that gold had fallen to around US$4,350 per ounce on Monday, ending a two-day advance as investors continued to monitor developments in the Middle East and their effects on inflation and interest rates. Oil prices had fallen for a fourth consecutive session amid signs of increased diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the Middle East conflict and restoring regional energy flows. The Federal Reserve had raised rates the previous week for the first time in three years, while Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari had said inflation remained too high and that price pressures had spread beyond the initial oil-price shock.
According to Trading Economics, gold was “one of the most widely followed precious metals” and was “often regarded as a safe-haven asset during periods of economic uncertainty, inflation, and geopolitical risk.” The source reported that gold demand had been led globally by jewelry consumption, followed by investment demand and a smaller contribution from industrial applications.
Step-Out Drilling Expands Gold Footprint as Analyst Tracks Additional Growth
Stifel analyst Cole McGill focused on the expanding scale of Goliath’s mineralized footprint in a July 15 research note after step-out drilling extended the Bonanza shear structure by approximately 750 meters to the southwest.
McGill said the results “showcase continuity of the Bonanza shear structure/host lithology (>1.8km x >1.8km corridor).” He added that further step-out drilling had “the ability to put upward pressure on total ounce count of property.”
For his valuation, McGill used Stifel’s 4.2 million ounce gold exploration target to value Goliath at approximately US$45 per ounce. He also estimated that the company’s US$190 million enterprise value represented approximately 1.36 million ounces of gold based on Stifel’s US$140 per ounce in-situ value benchmark.
According to Tipranks, McGill reiterated his Buy rating on September 11, 2026, giving the company a CA$4.25 target price. [OWNERSHIP_CHART-9595]
