So far this year, 29 clandestine graves have been located in Colima, all in the municipality of Tecomán, in which 30 human remains have been rescued.

The Colima Prosecutor’s Office reported the location of 26 clandestine graves in the community of Tecuanillo, municipality of Tecomán, where 27 exhumations have been carried out.

According to the Prosecutor specializing in Missing Persons, the graves were located in a property near the beach.

Héctor Peña Meza, Special Prosecutor for Missing Persons, remarked the following:

26 clandestine graves were located and human remains and skeletal remains of 27 people could be exhumed.

It is estimated that the remains found in Tecuanillo had been deposited there for a little less than a year.

Identification of bodies found in clandestine graves expedited

In order to speed up the identification of deceased persons in Colima who have not been claimed, the Prosecutor’s Office of Colima obtained a fingerprint scanner and through an agreement with the INE, it has been possible to obtain the face and data of the victims of whom there is no report of disappearance in the State.

And we can establish in that document, the photograph, the name of the person, the address of the person and that this even generates a way for us to locate someone we have here in the State of Colima, who was from another State or who was unidentified.

So far this year, 29 clandestine graves have been located in Colima, all in the municipality of Tecomán, in which 30 human remains have been recovered.
