Sinaloa Cartel Claims Ten Corpses from Zacatecas, Threatens Governor in Narco Video

In a recent narco video, gunmen identifying themselves as members of the Sinaloa Cartel claimed credit for the ten corpses that were strewn around Zacatecas last weekend. The gunmen claim the victims had broken an agreement with the Mayos and Cabreras factions of the Sinaloa Cartel.
The gunmen reference ten corpses that were dumped in three locations across Zacatecas state last weekend. In one of the body dumps, five corpses were hanged from a bridge with a rambling narco message blaming the victims for corruption and theft from the government. Among the ten victims were the former mayor of Sombrerete and the secretary of Social Development for the Fresnillo municipal government. The dead also included a firefighter, cattle ranchers, construction contractors, and restaurant owners from several municipalities across Zacatecas.
In the recent narco communication video, the speaker threatens a public figures including Zacatecas Governor David Monreal and General Porfirio Fuentes Vélez, accusing them of breaking a negotiated agreement with the criminal group.
However, there is no guarantee that this video was indeed recorded and diffused by the Sinaloa Cartel, as the gunmen claim to represent. The video could just as likely have been recorded by their rivals the CJNG. The public accusation of collusion between Zacatecas authorities and the Sinaloa Cartel, the challenge to the Mexican military, and the admission of being behind a high profile mass killing, would benefit the CJNG.

Likewise, we ask you, Governor David Monreal, to fulfill and respect the agreements that your cabinet has with our organization, since we are fulfilling our part. As proof, there is what we carried out for you, and we reiterate our commitment: any citizen who seeks to demonstrate or goes against the rules we have established will end up hanged or a little worse. We also want to make it clear to you that if you betray us in the pacts we have… not only with you, but also with your corporations, you and your entire descendants will end up the same or worse.
And right now we emphasize to the federal government, especially to you, fucking General Guango, Porfirio Fuentes Vélez. Do not think that you intimidate us with your fucking special forces that have just arrived in the state. To us—the Mayos and Cabrera—they can suck our dick. We also have knowledge that there are citizens who want to take up arms against our organization. Just wait a little, you bunch of assholes, including the relatives of the dead, so you can see that we will even kill their dogs. And as our boss, Don Ismael Zambada, would say: if they catch us or kill us, nothing changes. The structure is very strong in this mafia. One boss falls, but four jump in for the plaza. And for every one they kill or detain from us, we will make them pay double. This goes for any corporation that wants to play tough with us.
