"Authorities Intervene After SC Families Face Eviction, Fines In Agadalalanka Village"
Eluru – Andhra Pradesh (Before It’s News – IC): In a serious escalation of land disputes in Agdalalanka village, Eluru District, SC families have reportedly been evicted from their homes. The intervention came after a meeting led by Matte Babi, State General Secretary of the Republican Party of India, who brought the issue to the attention of authorities, prompting immediate action from the RDO.
- Eviction of SC families and fines
Villagers reported that a fine of Rs 10,000 was being imposed on anyone attempting to speak with or assist the SC families facing eviction. The village leadership, allegedly backed by local power holders, enforced these fines in an attempt to isolate the victims of the forced evictions.
- Dispute over government land sale
The issue intensified after it was revealed that 300 acres of Kolleru lands, originally allocated by the government for fishing, were sold off for Rs. 92 lakhs. The land, which was supposed to benefit the SC community, was reportedly occupied by influential figures from outside the village.
- Funds misappropriated for road construction
Additionally, Rs 10 lakhs were allegedly taken from the SC colony residents under the pretext of constructing a road, further adding to the burden on the already marginalized community. Villagers raised concerns about the misappropriation of funds and lack of accountability in the process.
- RDO orders immediate action
After hearing the grievances of the victims, RDO Khajavali responded swiftly, instructing authorities to take immediate steps to address the issues. Eluru DSP has also been directed to investigate the situation and prevent further exploitation of the SC families in Aagadalalanka.
