'Drug Addiction Leads To Degradation Of Societal Values': Traffic Police Lead Anti-Drug Awareness Drive

Proddatur - Andhra Pradesh (Before It’s News – IC): In an effort to combat the rising threat of drug addiction, the Traffic Police of Proddutur, led by Traffic SI Bhaskar, organized a special awareness program aimed at educating the public on the harmful effects of drugs. The event, held in collaboration with various voluntary service organizations on Tuesday, saw the unveiling of wall posters to spread awareness on the impact of drug abuse, particularly among the youth.

Speaking at the event, Traffic SI Bhaskar emphasized the critical need for such awareness initiatives. “The youth are heavily dependent on drugs, and as a result, society is losing wisdom. Drug addiction is leading to the degradation of societal values,” he remarked. He praised the efforts of voluntary organizations such as Vikasitha Foundation and Amma Helping Hands for taking a stand against the growing drug menace, calling their involvement commendable. He urged citizens to report any unsocial activities related to drug use to the nearest police station.

The program was highlighted by the use of wall posters as a medium to deter drug use, particularly marijuana and other intoxicants. SI Bhaskar noted that raising awareness through such creative and visible means can make a difference in curbing the drug problem. He stressed that public participation in these campaigns is crucial, as the responsibility to eliminate drugs lies with everyone.

The event witnessed participation from multiple representatives of local charitable organizations and institutions. Attendees included Shulam Lakshmi Devi of Vikasita Foundation, members of Amma Helping Hands Kondaiah Yadav, and students from Vagdevi Engineering College, including Arun Kumar Reddy, Balaji, Imtiaz, Nagendra, and Shivakumar. Police personnel also actively took part in the event to bolster the campaign reach.

This initiative marks a continued effort to address the alarming rise of drug-related issues in society, encouraging public vigilance and collective responsibility in tackling the problem.
