JAC To Storm Municipal Office Today, Demand Action On Neglected Issues

• SC, ST JAC urges people to join protest on Monday

Kalyandurg – Andhra Pradesh (Before It’s News – IC): Leaders of the SC, ST JAC (Taluka Committee) have called for a large scale protest on Monday, urging members from five mandals to join in a siege of the Kalyandurg Municipal Office. The protest, which aims to address several long-standing civic issues, is being organized to pressure the municipal authorities into action.

In a recent press conference at the R&B Guest House in Kalyandurg, JAC leaders accused municipal officials of neglecting their duties and failing to address key issues affecting residents, including poor sanitation and drainage mismanagement.

• Neglect of municipal duties

The JAC leaders emphasized that the Kalyandurg Municipality has failed to take action on critical sanitation issues. Drains have been left clogged, and streets are flooded with rain and drainage water, leading to an increase in mosquitoes and health risks for residents. Despite repeated complaints, municipal authorities have shown little interest in resolving the issue.

“The municipal commissioner is not discharging duties, except issuing threats. We witnessed this firsthand during our visit,” said JAC leaders.

• Threats and political interference

The JAC leaders further alleged that the municipal officials, instead of addressing the concerns of the residents, are engaging in threats and coercion. “They are threatening to demolish houses if people don’t comply, and they are trying to silence us without addressing the real issues,” they added. The leaders also claimed that political interference is exacerbating the situation, with officials bowing to pressure from local politicians.

• Repeated failures and call for change

According to the SC, ST JAC, the current municipal administration is no different from the previous one, with the same inefficiency and disregard for public welfare. “Despite all the evidence presented, the municipality continues to show laxity in resolving issues,” said the leaders, who stressed the need for immediate action.

The press conference was attended by several JAC leaders, including Taluka Presidents Chelimappa, District leader Dona Thimmappa, town leaders Dodagatta Marenna, Kambaduru Mandal President Dabur Ramesh, Brahmasamudram JAC Mandal In-Charge P Sriramulu, Jakkireddypally Narasimhu, S Narayana and others. They all expressed their support for the protest and called on the public to join in large numbers to ensure the success of the siege.

The protest is expected to escalate if the municipal authorities do not address the demands of the SC ST JAC Taluka Committee.
