Teachers' Caste Bias Sparks Outrage, Leaders Call for Suspension
Andhra Pradesh (Before It’s News – IC): BSP leader AC Devatanam and Mala Mahanadu State General Secretary N Narsappa have called for the immediate suspension of teachers accused of insulting students based on caste. The leaders, along with a group of protesters, staged a dharna at the local school in Pula Chinta village, Nandavaram mandal, and submitted a petition to the Mandal Education Officer (MEO) on Wednesday.

During the protest, the leaders demanded the immediate suspension of the teachers, identified as Naresh and Pawan Kumar. “It is unacceptable for educators, who are entrusted with the responsibility of shaping young minds, to demean students on the basis of caste,” Devatanam said. The protesters raised slogans, urging swift action against the accused teachers.
- Calls for legal action
The leaders further demanded that a case be filed under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act against the teachers. “Those who discriminate against students based on caste have no place in the teaching profession. They must be removed from their positions to uphold the dignity of the education system,” Narsappa emphasized.
- Community outrage
Leaders unanimously condemned the ongoing caste-based discrimination in schools, stating that such prejudice is inexcusable. They emphasized that due to the actions of a few, the nation’s future builders—its students—are being unfairly tarnished.
The protest saw the participation of various community members, including Jai Bheem MRPS leaders Bujjibabu and Potappa, as well as student union leaders Rajesh, Uday, Kumar, Suresh, Shekhar, B Veeresh, Vijayendra, and Raghu Mahendra. Villagers, students, and their parents also joined the demonstration, expressing their outrage over the discriminatory behaviour of the teachers.
Later, They submitted petition to the MEO, demanding immediate action to ensure justice and maintain the integrity of the education system in the village.
