Telangana Government Constitutes Committee For Gaddar Awards

Telangana (Before It’s News – IC): The Telangana state government has formed a high-level committee to finalize the procedures and regulations for the newly established Gaddar Awards, which will honour excellence in cinema. Chaired by renowned film director B Narsing Rao, the committee also includes film producer Dil Raju as Vice Chairman, along with 14 other distinguished members from the film industry.

• Formation of the Gaddar Awards Committee

The committee, constituted last week by an order from Chief Secretary Shanthakumari, was formed based on a proposal by the Telangana Film Industry and Theater Development Corporation (TGIFDC). The committee is tasked with deciding on the official name and logo for the Gaddar Awards, a new initiative launched by the state government to replace the Nandi Awards following the Congress party’s rise to power.

In addition to B Narsing Rao and Dil Raju, the committee includes prominent figures from the film industry such as directors K Raghavendra Rao and Harish Shankar, producers Allu Aravind and Tammareddy Bharadwaja, lyricist K. Chandra Bose, and actor Tanikella Bharani. Gaddar’s daughter, Gummadi Vennela, has also been appointed as a member, along with several other industry veterans who will provide valuable insights into shaping the future of these prestigious awards.

The Gaddar Abhimanula Sangham and Jajjanaka Kala Mandali have expressed their deep gratitude to the Telangana government for honouring the legacy of Gaddar through this award. C. Yal Yadagiri, President of the Gaddar Fans Association, and other members like Bantu Venkatesh and Dolak Vijay have warmly welcomed the formation of the committee, recognizing it as a significant step in celebrating the contributions of the legendary Gaddar to the arts.

The Gaddar Abhimanula Sangham and other supporters extended special thanks to Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Batti Vikramarka, and Chief Secretary Shanthakumari for their support in establishing the Gaddar Awards.
