Korrapati Chennakeshavulu: A Legacy Of Dalit Empowerment
Guntur – Andhra Pradesh (Before It’s News – IC): TDP leaders and dignitaries paid floral tributes to Dalit Ratna Korrapati Chennakeshavulu on his 8th death anniversary today, honouring his contribution to the SC, ST, BC, and minority communities. The event was organized by the SC, ST, BC Minority United Forum, highlighting Chennakeshavulu’s legacy as a champion for the underprivileged.
- Chennakeshavulu: A sovereign of the Dalit movement
Speaking at the event, TDP leader Thalla Venkatesh Yadav emphasized that Korrapati Chennakeshavulu was the driving force behind the movement aimed at addressing the problems faced by SC, ST, BC minorities. “Inspired by Ambedkar’s vision, Chennakeshavulu fought for the marginalized sections of society, mobilizing movements for justice,” Yadav said, while paying floral tributes to the late leader.
- A Leader with strong leadership qualities
AC College Principal Moses praised Chennakeshavulu as a leader who demonstrated strong leadership qualities from his student days. “He was socially conscious and dedicated to the cause of the underprivileged,” Moses said, reflecting on Chennakeshavulu’s commitment to social justice.
- Champion for all castes
SC, ST, BC Minority state leaders, including AC Law College Principal Guravaiah, highlighted that although Chennakeshavulu led Malamahanadu, he fought for the rights of all castes. “He upheld Ambedkar’s principles of justice, charity, and sacrifice, standing by every community,” said Guravaiah.

The leaders also praised Korrapati Suresh, Chennakeshavulu’s son, who continues his father’s legacy. “Suresh is driven by the same Dalit movements that inspired his father and is fulfilling his father’s ambitions,” said Eemani Chandrasekhar, Sureedu Party State President.

Several prominent leaders attended the event and paid tributes, including MRPS State President Adapa Mohan, OBC Welfare Association National President Angirekula Varaprasad Yadav, APSC Welfare Association President Medida Baburao, Muslim Rights Struggle Samithi State President Sheikh Khajavali, BJP SC Cell District President Dara Ambedkar, Malamahanadu State Convener Korrapati Suresh, Yanadi Rights Struggle State President Thiruveedhu Shankar Prasad, and Muslim Rights Protection Samiti Presidents Sheikh Nagul Meera and Karra Anok Benjamin.
- Tributes at Pedakakani Colony
In a separate event held at Pedakakani Ludhargiri Colony, TDP leaders, including Ponnur Constituency SC Cell spokesperson Atmakuri Venkateshwarlu, paid tributes to the Ambedkar statue. Venkateshwarlu noted that Chennakeshavulu’s tireless efforts for the poor will never be forgotten. “His struggles on behalf of the oppressed will always remain etched in the hearts of the people,” he said.

Lingangunta Salmon Raju, Mandal senior leader, remarked that Chennakeshavulu worked for not only Dalits, SC, ST, and BC minorities but also for the upper caste poor. “Chennakeshavulu was truly a successor to Ambedkar in spirit, working for the upliftment of all,” Raju added.
The event was attended by Mandal TDP Youth Vice President Bejjam Gopalakrishna, District Telugu Youth Secretary Lingangunta Ramakrishna, TDP leaders Luther Giri, Kolatapu Manikya Rao, Bangaru Radha, Lingangunta Ashok, Dodda Ajay, Anumarlapudi Raju, Karra Pradeep, Polampalli Rajendra, Amire Vandanam, Veernapu Nageswara Rao, and Nutan, all of whom paid heartfelt tributes to Chennakeshavulu’s legacy.
